Totally ridiculous... that story shocked me, I have seen that exact argument cause illogically flared tensions in person.
Cheers!

Lock the guy up and throw away the key. "Good kid" my ***. There are certain lines you don't cross, booze or no booze.

Hmm, interesting that they specified it was a 'folding' knife, not just a five inch knife. Maybe im projecting but im on the defensive for obvious reasons.
P.S. That said, i'm all for prohibition.

After this happened, i'm really not surprised by many senseless acts of violence.

I'm not all that suprised by the "five inch knife" detail as the media likes to use numbers as a scare tactic, but clearly the use of the descriptor "folding" points to their underlying political agenda. Makes me just as sick as the act of violence itself.

"This is a good kid,” Gulbrandsen said.

Yeah, right. He stabbed three, killing one.

This is a reason I don't go to bars anymore.

I used to basically "live" in bars when I was in my running around days.
It's definately a different world now. There used to be bar fights and
what-not, but then you'd end up drinking a beer with the other guys.
Yep, a different world.

The guy should have tried a helluva lot harder at being a good Christian.

Now one man is dead. And this so-called lifelong Christian flushed his own life down the toilet.

Different world for sure. There have been bar fights since the first bar opened, but a human life seems to be worth a lot less these days.

That's insane. Quite a shame and another reason not to aggravate people you don't know.

Wouldn't be surprised if they started to outlaw knives in bars. To my knowledge you can't bring a gun into a bar, period.

Does loss of life really come any other way when it comes right down to it? :(

At some Bars / Nightclubs, they already do. The guy did an absolutely stupid thing by losing his temper that way. But the stranger who decided to heckle him for drinking beer out of a wine glass should have kept his mouth shut. Even if he was just having a bit of fun with the guy, that's something you do with a friend or a good acquaintance. Or, at the very least, someone whom a friend has actually introduced you to. You don't pull that nonsense on a stranger who just happened to sit down at a shared table in a crowded Bar. Looking through my short list of close friends, thankfully none of them are that immature as to provoke a stranger into a fight that might escalate WAY out of hand in the blink of an eye.
