#1

Post by razorsharp »

Well, i have been wanting to start making knives for a long time, finally saved up and got a grinder with linishing attatchment.

2 knives in front of it for scale

Here is the concept http://www.slimber.com/index.php?image= ... ry.g127299

And here is the reality
CHOIL ISNT FINISHED btw :p :o

It is made of O1 steel. 3MM stock. It is going to be sent away for a HT up to 60 HRC. I am making around 10 knives and setting them sent off in a batch for the HT. By then I should have my new belts and will be able to take the knives to 400 grit, or higher if I do a special order

Looks really Perrin influenced. Very nice Travis; I'm truly impressed! Can't wait to see the final product.

Actually, not really :p . I was playing with handle shapes a few months back and came to the conclusions that a large area where your mid-ring-pinky fingers go feels amazing in hand. half of my designs have that :D .

My personal top 3 favorite folders, based on ergos from spyderco are the PPT, Para2 and chaparral, this tops them all and it isn't even finished :o :o :o .

Popsickle (chat) is getting one of my designs made by an American knife maker, the name passes my head , He was going to buy a 300 dollar fixed bladed PPT from Sacha Thiel , but he said he wants this made more:http://slimber.com/index.php?image=fb-u ... fe.g129997 THAT has honored me, With luck, It will earn me some business :)

I wanna do this soooo bad. I have a bit of experience sculpting metal on a grinder (artistic wise) and i really think i'd be good at this, i just don't have a belt sander or band saw or anything really to do it with.
