Been listening to lots of The Contortionist lately. Very good band if you're into heavy progressive stuff.

Sounds like modern Slayer! Always too heavy for me!

Phew, you metalheads. Haha. Have to admit that other than the occasional Anthrax or Mastodon, I've mellowed some.

Currently:
1. Lambchop – Mr. M
2. Leonard Cohen – Old Stories
3. Turnpike Troubadours – Goodbye Normal Street
4. Robbie Fulks – Gone Away Backwards
5. Grinderman – Grinderman 2
6. My Morning Jacket – It Still Moves
7. Jerry Jeff Walker – Live at Gruene Hall
8. Devil Makes Three – Do Wrong Right
9. Jason Isbell – Southeastern
10. Jamey Johnson – The Guitar Song

Anyway, to add a bit thematic relevance to the post, I wonder how many Spyderco fans are familiar with the song below. It's not my favorite of Guy Clark's work, but still nice.

Hmm, cool to see some other metalheads. Last few albums I picked up were Witherscape - The Inheritance, Wintersun - Time I and Turistas - The Varangian Way. Kind of on a folk metal kick. Cheesy but when done right, it puts a smile on my face.

Next few pickups are probably going to be the new Gorguts and Carcass.

I think of Spyderco whenever I listen to this particular song.

Thanks, everyone for keeping this thread alive and inspiring all of us with new music. I've really enjoyed the posts and got turned on to some great music and musicians.

I've yet to figure out the bug that inhibits me from embedding You Tube vids, but lately I've been on a bender of John Mayer Trio and James Brown.

I like TSO and they tour with serious talent. Never managed to catch them live though. Been listening to http://www.brutalexistenceradio.com as they are about as metal as it gets. \m/

Here are 2 interesting comparables, the original and on the next post I will put up the new kind of sanitized version. Some people think no Axl no GNR, I tend to agree, thank God Slash is still rocking it.
