Some of the older bands you all put up like BADFINGER for instance really brings back memories. I used to have their "No Dice" LP and played the **** out of it. I heard that 2 members of the band committed suicide about a year ago. The entire band got screwed over by crooked managers. It was the BEATLE's Apple Record company that launched their career and you would think someone would have come to their aid as much of a money maker as they were.

Also I've not heard anyone mention the MOODY BLUES  I also heard that they never made the ROCK & ROLL Hall Of Fame. Something is wrong there because if a mediocre band like "Cheap Trick" can make the R & R Hall of Fame then something is horribly wrong if the Moody Blues are excluded. But on the other hand I heard that Deep Purple never even made it until about 2013 I think it was.

There were a lot of powerhouse groups of the 70s that are all but forgotten that were passed over as well. The group RARE EARTH was pretty decent as was SUGARLOAF but no respect for either one of those bands either  :( Also I never heard if Grand Funk ever made the R & R Hall Of Fame either

Took my wife to see them in San Diego in 1996! The San Diego Symphony joined the band for most of the concert....EPIC!

That's most interesting EXTRA because that was the same year I got see the reincarnation of Jethro Tull here in KC. However at that time the only original band members were Ian Anderson and lead guitarist Martin Lancelot Barre>> who I've said for years that he was one of the most underappreciated guitarists of his genre. I would easily put him up to Richie Blackmore ( Deep Purple-Rainbow fame), Brian May, or even Jeff Beck for that matter. But all in all it was a great show and they also had Emerson, Lake & Palmer there as well.

In the 90s there were so many of the 60s/70s bands that were re-grouping and touring again. I bet they spent all of their money and it was probably out of necessity. Although many of those resurrected bands were only a skeleton of what they once were. Seeing Alice Cooper and his group a year later was kind of sad because they were not anywhere near the band they were in the 70s :(

I would have loved to seen the Moody Blues. I also heard that they used to perform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. It's most interesting to see a lot of rock bands perform with orchestras>> Frank Zappa even did that for a while too.

Between 1988 and 2000 I saw many 60/70s bands and performers ...some of the best concerts I've ever seen! The standouts were The Who (1989 Jack Murphy Stadium ), Pink Floyd (1994 Jack Murphy Stadium ), Elton John /Billy Joel Face to Face (1995 Jack Murphy Stadium ), and the Moody Blues (1996) .

Once my health troubles started in 2006....attendance tapered off. Took my wife and daughter to see Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones the last few years at Petco Park!

Music has been a huge part of my life and it never ceases to amaze me how the brain goes to a time /place/event when a meaningful tune from the past plays...awesome :)

Ohhhh man. Totally forgot about Hole. Used to listen to them back in my skateboarding days as a teenager. One of my good friends loved them and would take his stereo speakers put them in the windows of his bedroom and blast Hole while we would skateboard on his concrete pad in the backyard. Good times!
