sunday's royals yankees game.

Hey I live here in beautiful Kansas City, Missouri and I'm not even a Royals fan anymore. It was probably about when George Brett retired is when I sort of gave up on them. Then when Ewing Kauffman died ( the original owner) I then lost all fanfare for the Royals. Even back in the 70s I was more of a fan of the Big Red Machine ( Cincinnati Reds) ( Pete Rose, Johnny Bench era).

But the years the Royals were consistently good in the 1970s there was also some great music during that era too at our local sports stadiums. We had some really cool bands come to town>> Even Phil Collins and Genesis kind of got their start here. Alice Cooper came here several times as well as the original James Gang ( Joe Walsh & Co). Grand Funk played here so many times I truly lost count. And Jethro Tull was here at least 15 times over the years. And you all that live in the Big Apple and other big cities would have never believed that much action would occur in a Cowtown like Kansas City. The Royals/Yankees rivalry goes all the way back to 1975. When those two teams played each other at Royals Stadium ( Before it was called Kauffman Stadium) you couldn't hardly get a ticket at all unless you bought them about 2 month in advance. Just thought you would like a little trip down memory lane. :cool: JD :spyder: O
