Agreed- It would not (to use an analogy) trouble Sherlock Holmes for more than 2 minutes to work what the missing element in this period of Sabbath's discography.Evil D wrote:demoncase wrote:Dug out an old 'non-Ozzy' Black Sabbath album called 'Headless Cross' that I used to love.....It has not aged well.
Call me a purist but when it comes to Sabbath I can't listen if it's not Ozzy behind the mic. I love Dio but I don't even like those albums.
Ozzy was the original and best. Dio was good but no Ozzy. I also enjoy Ian Gillan's vocals, but the band did not sound like Black Sabbath and the songs have not held up over time.demoncase wrote:Agreed- It would not (to use an analogy) trouble Sherlock Holmes for more than 2 minutes to work what the missing element in this period of Sabbath's discography.Evil D wrote:demoncase wrote:Dug out an old 'non-Ozzy' Black Sabbath album called 'Headless Cross' that I used to love.....It has not aged well.

I loved it when I was 16 though....Then again, I loved Carling lager when I was 16 too and now I wouldn't even use it to wash my feet.
Paul I really had you pegged as more of a classic rock kind of guy.The Deacon wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-txI_zJNZbY

They lost me at the cut-n-paste guitar intro... the rest is interesting, but it's hard to re-imagine a track like that which is so iconic for so many reasons (including the intricate production). I'd maybe go for a solo acoustic guitar version, but it would have to have a fantastic vocal to pull it off.Evil D wrote:Takes a lot of courage to cover Pink Floyd..
