EDC Flashlight carry
EDC Flashlight carry
Real simple question...for those that EDC a light, What do you carry, and where/how do you carry it?
I am trying out a new light that is about 1 inch in diameter (which is a bit thicker than the one I have been carrying) and I am curious what experienced carriers do.
I am not a tactical guy, just a guy that carries tools I use in a typical day...I do wear tactical pants because they are comfortable and have lots of pockets. Not sure if this helps, but I do not prioritize tactical/SD operations, I simply want a reliable means of carry that will not result in loss of the light, or discomfort.
Thanks for any tips you have for me

I switch between a few but it is mostly a 4sevens Mini 123 in my right front pocket or Fenix P2D also in the RFP.
When the winter is here(gets dark early) and I wear a jacket I tend to keep a surefire LX2 or Fenix P3D0+ in the jacket pocket.
I find these methods very convenient and do not notice the light is even there in most cases.

I normally carry a 1x123 sized light, with a clip in my front left pocket. I rotate between a 4Sevens Quark 123T (Neutral or R5), Dereelight C2H, Nitecore Extreme (Neutral or R2), and sometimes on the weekend I'll carry a 4sevens 123^2 Neutral.
Speaking of 1" diameter, I used to like carrying my Novatac 120P modded to a K2 emitter... until the driver died. It didn't seem to be too big to carry.

I need a flashlight very rarely so I have it in my bag, which is pretty much always with me. It's in a small side pocket where its easily accessible.
It's a 4Sevens Quark 123^2, so it will have enough power for whatever the task might be and won't run out of juice too soon. I also have a small cheapo LED in my keychain. I have considered getting a Preon1 for my keychain but since I need a light so rarely it has not been very high on my wishlist.

I prefer the larger more capable flashlights, my current EDC light is a 4-7's Quark CR123x2 with an 18650 body. Great light but the 18650 body fit an finish is poor which leads to a poor battery connection and a quite often a flickering light.
Before I carried a Preon 2. Great light but I wanted something brighter.

Fenix LD20, only carry it when I expect to be out past sunset- otherwise its just my knife, wallet, phone, etc. I use the recharchable AA eneloop batteries
I carry it in my left (weak hand) pocket on its clip, though sometimes I do wish I would have gotten the Fenix PD20 because a 2AA sized flashlight is a bit much for edc

Usually my Zebralight SC51w, Mac's SST-50 EDC, or Dereelight C2H/Javelin head (clipped to left pocket). With a coat I sometimes have my Dereelight DBS (or with a CL1H head to make it more slim).
With pants pocket lights I typically don't mess with more than 1 battery.
I have a Fenix E01 on my keys...love that little light. Would like to get another Fenix soon...maybe a PD20 or something like that....

4Sevens Quark 123 in my pocket and a Preon ReVO on the keyring. For air travel, I only take the Preon. I've never been hassled over it.

I have a Surefire 6P that I wear to work, and when I change to my work clothes I have a 6P LED. On the weekend I carry a new Maglite XL50.

I have a Fenix PD31 clipped to my left rear pocket. It's about .950" diameter, so pretty close to your 1" light. At first, it was noticeably bigger than the PD30 that I used to carry there, but I do like the extra light and runtime afforded by the 18650 rechargeable battery.
I also carry an Olight T10 loose in my right front pocket. It's handy as a second light and stays set to dim as it's default setting. It is truly amazing for a single 123 light.

Novatac 85t in a Qarawol custom belt holster. I used to carry a Fenix 1xAA light in the OEM nylon sheath but went to the Novatac a couple years back.
