Well, I did have in 1870 !
Hi all. Just had a nice surprise. My family and I have been researching our ancestors for a couple of years. A branch of our family left Manchester in the early 1830's. Other family members also trickled out of the UK untill about the middle of the 19thC. I was recently contacted by a lady from Vegas who is my 6th cousin 8>) We gave each other access to look at our family trees on the net. I was just having a look at where her ancestors lived in the US and it turns out that her great and great great grandfather lived in Golden CO during the late 1860's early 1870's. They later moved on to Black Hawk CO nearby, then Denver.
Hope I haven't bored you all, but I was tickled pink to read the info.

I was in Golden just today. It's nestled in some pretty scenery, but I sure would love to have seen it back in the 19th century.

Great story. Genealogy is the best; it really makes you feel humbled to be part of your family.
