I Finally Achieved It!!!

#1

Post by raven »

Hey All, It's been a while since posting, been hit/miss, and lurking mostly. I've been CRAZY Busy with work ...as usual  .

A while back I mentioned I'd be going through Police Sniper School. That was back in the later part of July. I made it through most of the course and didn't make my qualification shoot, because of a scope issue  :( .

The instructor was very understanding and did give me the opportunity to do a Re-Qual. As of 12-10-10 ... I became a certified Police Sniper ;) :) . I worked my tail off and did a great deal of shooting to get hear and it's such a GREAT Feeling of Achievement!!! Just thought I'd share the news. Thanks Much for Listening, Take Very Good Care, and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

Great job and congratulations. Now, remember not to even let the armorer near your rifle without you being around to make sure the scope and mountings don't get disturbed without your knowledge.

Any time it's been out of your custody consider it compromised and needing a new zero.

Free ammo right? :)

That's great, congratulations.

Next question is, what kind of knife does a Police Sniper need?

KILLER(sic) NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Congratulations -- I have a buddy with Lakewood SWAT, and the tremendous training he had to master was one helluva monumental achievement.

I can't imagine the sense of thrilling accomplishment, but I bet you're on Cloud Nine... and thanks for having our backs out there --

Congrats!

Stay safe.

Been doing mostly lurking myself here lately also.

Congrats Raven!

Can you provide a few details of the type of shooting that is part of the test for qualification?

Congratulations! I love to shoot but don't anymore. The only rifle I have is a Browning 22 cal. I've had it since I was a kid. Put a 4x scope on it and the squirrels tremble.

Wondering: What kind of range can you shoot accurately? How often to you practice?

I've heard of police officers who serve their entire career and never fire their pistol in the line of duty. Are there snipers who never need to shoot in a real hostage situation or whatever the case? I imagine there are.

I believe your skill can save lives when there is no other option. Wish the skill wasn't necessary but it is. If I'm ever taken hostage I'll feel comforted that there is some Spydie nut out there to save the day. :)

Again, congrats
Jack
