Strider BN ::custom kydex::

#1

Post by pazzo »

I decided to run out and buy this Strider BN a few weeks ago. Unimpressed with the Eagle sheath (it is a great sheath, just not for what I want it for), I shipped it off to Mike Billman at Grindstone Cutlery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mike has done previous work for me and is top notch when it comes to kydex work. I have other kydex sheaths for other knives (Busse, etc...) made by the 'best' in the industry, and his work is definitely on top with them.

I chose green kydex on the front and black on the back, to go with the paracord wrapped handle. It matches perfectly.

I got Mike to have the sheath fitted for a Tek-Lok clip, Molle-Lok and his own custom belt clip.

Here's a few really quick pics. Enjoy ;)

Nice work.

Ive met up with a local Fire Fighter in my area who does custom knife work. He is a whiz at kydex stuff.

Whick back pack is that. I want to say 5.11 or Maxpedition.

Very nice! He even got the paracord handle impressions nicely done. Definitely custom made. It's great when you can get something specifically fitted to your knife. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us!

Nice sheath, how is the knife if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Canis,
I'm not sure how the knife performs yet. I bought it then shipped it off right away ;)

I'll let you guys know after I take it out. Winter is coming here so it may not be until next spring :(

Here is another sheath made by Mike @ Grindstone, for my Woodlander (with the same green/black kydex and custom leather belt loop). This thing snaps in like you wouldn't believe :D

Very nice.

I may have to look into one of those sheaths for my BT-SS.

Just picked up this pack today, custom made for ME, & sewn tactically in a tactical manner by a tactically thinking American born Canadian :D
It's the same pack as the one above, only in CADPAT, which is perfect for this area.
