My First Knife, The Sheriff.

Howdy All,

I have posted here a few times, and I just made a knife, so I thought I would post it here.

I call it, The Sheriff.

I made it in the shop of Robert Alderman of Tracker's Forge, he oversaw the construction, and made sure that I didn't make too many mistakes.

Specifically, I thought I would show off an image my sister took....

You can see more images at http://eyeoncutlery.blogspot.com/, including a very cool image of the Sheriff on the anvil, with the parts I used to make it.

Thank you

That sure enough looks to be a stout piece. Nice work.

Is it a forged blade? What steel did you use?

jb2009 - Good Eye, that is what I was going for, the Old West kind of thing

White Willie - Yeah, I forged it from a reclaimed 40's era Chevy leaf spring, so that makes it 5160 High Carbon Steel.

Thank you all for the kind words.

MDP-I think it looks great! I like that it has some belly, and I like the "peened" bolster. It does look like it could do some serious work. :)

Very nice! It would go perfectly with an 1878 Colt Double Barrel shotgun, IMHO.

A companion to a coach gun, a fine choice. And two 'tools' that would have meant a great deal to a man out on his own. Thank you.

mrappraisit - Serious work it could do indeend. Thank you.

picobrain - To Justice! Thank you.
