About Samo..

#1

Post by samosaurus »

Hey folks! Greetings from Malaysia! I would like to give a shout out to Jurphaas, Java, The Deacon and all you Spyderfolks including the Spydercrew in Spyderland.

I've been away for a while and to most of you folks who knew me, I have gone through some life-changing experiences... Yet, I haven't forgotten about you guys - especially the Spydercrew who has been my inspiration in many of my endavours.

Life is good here in Malaysia and I've also been going out a lot with my lovely wife and furkids. I now work in a daily newspaper with the highest audited circulation in my country. Deskbound, I still find some time to move about, though not as active as before.. And presently, I am involved in some community work with indigenous people and rural teachers..

Here's some highlights from my adventures..

Image

The Samos travel a lot to the countryside these days with Sir Naughty and Dame Queenie, their Siberian Huskies..

Image

As city slickers, we appreciate the farm life and helped farmers to educate their kids in the English Language..

Image

Their children loves our dogs..

Image

And in return, we love their food and hospitality..

Image

In the farm, we harvest our own food.. Which is a fun thing.. Mrs Samo also loves fishing..

Image

Our kidz also love the farm life..

Part of my community work - here's a piped-water project in East Malaysia's rural area..

This is one of few primary schools where I am helping some teachers in their outdoor classrom programme..

Rural kids...

Image

They mostly from ethnic groups who live under the poverty line..

Image

Most of them are poor, but happy..

Image

They live in remote areas - accessible only with 4WD vehicles..

Always good to see your pictures from your adventures Samo. I think I'm going to have to add Malaysia to my list of countries to visit, it looks like a beautiful place.

And don't look now, but someone put your steering wheel on the wrong side!

Welcome back Samo. We don't know each other but I'm glad you've returned. It looks to me as if you live in paradise.

My dog has a pack similar to the one your dogs are wearing. However, my dog is having hip problems and is no longer able to carry her stuff. Or, she's faking so I'll carry the water bottles and gear.
