Congratulations from a newlywed (6-7-08). I wish you all the happiness and joy that marriage has brought my wife and I. I too dated my wife for a while before we were married, we met in 2003 and married in 2008 so a little less than you.

One tip I have for being engaged, learn to ignore people that like to make snide or negative jokes about marriage. It got real old, real quick with all those "ball and chain" type jokes. Don't pay attention to them and just focus on what is coming up and how happy you are about it.

I was into a wedding last week end in Washington D.C. (step-brother) and it nearly made me change my mind about asking my girlfriend of over 10 years to go through... But didn't... And now your post....
