Accident

#1

Post by tonydahose »

well it was an interesting day at work yesterday...we had a fire around noon which was nice (for us, not the business) because it has been a month or so without any. At 5 this morning we went to an accident on the highway and when we were almost done a guy managed to squeeze into the 5' space between our rig and the retaining wall at about 40mph or so, hit the car in front of us that was in the original accident and then came around 4' from hitting the ambulance crew before the car finally stopped...the truck was rocking pretty good from getting hit and messed up the bumper a bit. it could have been really bad, thankfully nobody got hurt....it was raining/sleet and the driver was drunk too  i think the day before a fireman got hurt in a similiar accident....i hate stupid people, rant off.

What a moron...

Glad you and the rest of the crews are ok Tony. I've been in similar situations myself working wrecks along the interstate. Not a very pleasant feeling at all....

Glad everyone was safe Tony.

I was involved in an accident at 87th and Manheim Road during the seventies. (Palos Hills maybe?) I was a passenger and was laying at the side of the road being treated my a para-medic when some knothead came racing toward the wreckage, hit the brakes and lost control. He went spinning through the accident scene and off the road and into a ditch. As in your case, there were no additional injuries.

Hey Tony, glad you're okay, and that there were no additional injuries.
I just said it in another thread a couple of weeks ago. Stupid is everywhere! Look out for it!
