Time for a contest!

#1

Post by The Deacon »

Ok gang, as I write this it appears I'm about to hit a major milestone in online keyboard abuse. Image By the time you read it, the count may have already passed the 10k mark. Anyway, I decided a contest was in order, so here it goes.

Rules are simple.
  • It's a "guess the number" game.
  • Anyone registered before today (with exception of Spyderco staff) can enter.
  • One entry per person.
  • One guess per entry.
  • Contest closes March 1st at noon EST, or when someone hits the exact number, if that happens first.
  • If nobody hits the exact number the closest guess, under or over, wins.
  • If there's a tie between under and over, earliest entry wins.
The number to be guessed is the odometer reading on my Jeep Patriot as I write this. Took a photo of the odometer yesterday when I got home from shopping. Car has not been driven since. Sent Kristi the number, and a copy of the photo to keep me honest.

Prize will be winners choice of one of the following:
  • Digital Camo Military (numbered)
  • Chinook III (numbered)
  • Mariner Salt (numbered)
  • Sprint Run (blue/grey) ZDP-189 Delica (numbered)
  • Kiwi (choice of Jigged Bone, Red Bone, Pearl/Abalone, or Carbon Fiber)
Here are some facts that may (or may not) help:
  • Took delivery of the Patriot on October 11, 2008.
  • It had 2 miles on the odometer when I drove it out of the dealer's lot.
  • It is my only vehicle, so it's used for commuting, shopping, "pleasure" driving, etc.
  • The area I live could best be described as "suburban".
  • My drive to work is approximately 10 miles each way (darn new odometers don't show tenths).
  • I work a 4 day "compressed" work week.
  • I've taken a couple weeks off from work since I got it.
  • I have not taken any long trips yet.
  • Mileage is well under half my post count.
  • It had its 1 month/1k miles checkup in mid November and had well under 1k miles on it at that time.
Can't think of anything else to add, so have fun. I'll not post to this thread again until there is a winner, unless someone finds a major boo-boo in the above.
