My choice in CCW

#1

Post by StuntZombie »

Just thought I'd share a pic of my P99. It's been with me for a few years now, and every time I take it shooting, I'm reminded why I fell in love with the design.

Nice looking piece. I'm a 1911 guy myself. Nothing better than a nice 1911 trigger.

cedjunior,

As much as I like the trigger on the P99, I have to agree with you there.

Nice! I'm a 9mm fan. But I wouldn't mind a Kimber Custom II. Which trigger do you have on that P99?

My CCW is a Glock 19. Thinking of getting the smaller Kahr K9/P9 soon.

Nice! I have a P22 and its really a cool little gun, a joy to shoot. Something about Walthers, they are just so sleek looking in my opinion!

JediKnight86,

It's the QA trigger. Pretty much like a Glock trigger, except a little heavier. It's really smoothed up over the years, though it still doesn't feel as good as my friend's P99 with the AS trigger.

Me too. I carried a semi-custom Lightweight Commander for years and then switched to a Para P-10 in stainless. I also like Glocks (my very first CCW was a G19) and am thinking of getting a G36 for my new CCW.
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

I had a Hi-Power clone and loved the single action trigger. I've shot the new M&P by Smith and Wesson and the trigger on that is pretty smooth and light.

I'm saving for a baby eagle .45 from Magnum Research. Any opinions?

All of the above pics make me drool... anyone got a napkin? Better make that a small towel.

You're better off spending your money elsewhere IMO. You could get a Kimber Cutom II for about that price.

Over the past few years I've carried a Taurus Millenium Pro, a Charter Arms Bulldog, a S&W J frame airweight, a CZ40B, a Glock 19, a KelTec P3AT, and a 1911 government by two different marques.

Today I've only got the 1911 and P3AT, with the Glock going up for sale in a month and a half - the funds from which will go towards a 1911 officer's, and eventually the P3AT will be sold, and the funds from which will go towards a Colt Mustang II.

I really do like the Walther P22/P99 designs, and see merits with just about every firearm out there. But for me personally, I'm a 1911 guy. Maybe it's just me, but I also get a kick out of shooting IDPA with the local police squad and hearing that I've got an unfair advantage because of my firearm choice. Isn't that the point of a carry gun?
