According to that site, "Till the End of Time" by Perry Como. Which is kind of funny considering that some twenty odd years later, he threatened me with a golf club. For those not old enough, were talking a man whose "on stage" persona was kinda like a Mr. Rogers for grown ups. :D

And for those young pups who think "top ten" songs are a recent phenomenon, "Your Hit Parade" started out on radio in 1935.

Worked for a gun shop that serviced the traps for the skeet ranges of a few country clubs that, as it turned out, included one which Perry Como belonged to. I'd just finished helping the shop owner's son reinstall the traps there for the start of their skeet season. We'd been told by the club manager that the golf course would be closed that day, and to bring our guns and have some fun when it came time to test and align them, and that he (the manager) might join us.

We're doing just that when a golf cart comes over a little rise like one of the jeeps on Rat Patrol. Guy in it is waving a golf club over his head, face red as a beet, and screaming bloody murder. Fact that I had a shotgun in my hands didn't faze him one bit. It was obvious he had not gotten gotten the news. If the club manager had not shown up at just that moment to join us I'm not sure how things would have turned out. Probably with me getting bashed in the head, since the Winchester 21 I was holding was empty. Needless to say, the maniac in the cart was none other that Perry Como, signature yellow cardigan and all.

Before you ask, the 21 belonged to the shop, not me.
