Oh dread and anxiety :(
Taking aim too close to me for comfort, a few miles over and I am in the crosshairs. To flee or fight that is the question.
Let us pray :)

Fay, Gustav, Hannah, ???

The North Atlantic season has become more active of late. I check the National Hurricane Center several times a day to see what the latest updates show.

I know how you feel gull wing. On it's current projected path it looks like it's gonna hit just to the east of me. A little bit of a more northwesterly shift and he'll land right on top of me. :(

I also pray that it misses you guys or at least that it never gets worse than a tropical storm.

Looks like we're fixing to start voluntary evacuations of the coastal parishes (counties) with mandatory evacuations soon to follow. This morning's new projected path is putting it very, very close to where I am. :(

Best of luck to all who are in the projected path. Being in South Florida, I know what it's like watching, waiting, making preparations, hunkering down during it and then dealing with the aftermath. My prayers are with you all.
I prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

I just checked the NHC for info on Gustav and Hannah.

The forcast track for Gustav has it crossing western Cuba tonight and then making landfall on Tuesday on the Louisiana coast. Hannah is forcast to hit the SE Bahamas and then eastern Cuba, and then who knows. There are two more tropical waves in the eastern Atlantic that may develop into named storms. And it's still early in the season.

God bless all those in the paths of these storms. Do what you can to protect yourselves and your loved ones.

Looks like mandatory evacuations are going to start tomorrow morning where I'm at and being emergency services we'll be the last to leave.

It's not looking to good down here right now... :(

Best of luck bros.

Im in Pearland (Houston) helping my brother move to a new house. Hopefully we'll just get a bit of rain but we stocked up on cash, food, water and gas anyway.

The highways in NOLA are going contra here in a couple of hours. That should be good for getting people out.

The Sunday morning news reports don't look good for you southern LA/TX/MS people. Please just get out now if you are potentially in the path. Don't become a statistic! The memories of 3 years ago are still fresh. Take what you can but please leave now if there's any chance it could endanger you on Tuesday.

keep us up to date on the forum from somewhere north of those areas. Don't want to see you on the news.

Godspeed.
