Recommend a Watch.

Can you guys recommend me a watch. I think I want something thats quite rugged but also classy for dress. I also think I would want a Analog rather than a digital.

One only comes to mind Vincent. Citizen EcoDrive. I have owned 3 of these, and bought one for my dad, they are absolutly awsome. No Battery EVER.

Second the Tsar. Also take a look at MKII watches. Option to customize. Have a seafighter beeing assembled... darn their half year wait time for custom pieces though.

Depends what you wanna spend. I think some of the G-Shocks look classy. I also like the Seiko Orange Monster.

I have a Seiko that set me back about $320 almost 9 years ago. It's still going strong.

My next watch will be a G-Shock of some sort, but not because I don't like the Seiko, I just want a change. :)

Besides being a knife nut, I also collect watches.

The Casio G Shock's are very popular and moderately priced, except for the higher end Master G series, such as the " Frogman " model. All the G Shocks are built to take any kind of abuse.

I gave my nephew a " Frogman " for a graduation present, it was an awesome solar powered titanium model. I kind of wished that I would have kept it for myself !

I still think that you can't beat the Seiko diver watches for value and longivity. The Seiko " Orange Monster " with a 7S26 automatic movement, will provide 15 - 20 years of problem free use. This is a very striking watch.

My newest watch is a Seiko SHC063P " Saw Tooth " diver. This model has the 7N36 quartz movement ( very accurate, +-2 sec a month ).
This " Saw Tooth " diver is very intimidating and will get noticed.

Both Seikos can be had for about $ 125.00 on E Bay. The models sell for about $ 300.00 to $ $ 400.00 in retail stores.

Check out these models on E Bay. They are really solid.

I feel like the first question should be, Whats your price range? This will heavly influnence my response.

My first response is of course the watch I have and I love it. But its a little expensive for most.

Its a Hamilton Frogman Automatic.

I have one of these a MTM Blackhawk a bit pricey but worth it in the long run rechargable battery by electromagnetic induction via special stand, NASA had something to do with it, built in LED's pre set to 20 seconds burst in blue or 1 minute burst in orange visible over a mile away, water proof deeper than you realy ever want to go and avalible now not just to the military but to the public, made in different colours/finished.

As said before - depends on you budget what to recommend. I myself have had a Breitling Colt Automatic(analog) for >15 years and I'm still more than happy :)

depends on how much your looking to spend the 007 is great but if you want to try a japan market only watch, you might want to look at a seiko sbda001 a.k.a. samurai ...titanium case and band auto movement also....i owned one but some dirt bag snagged it at the gym......all i have left now is a brietling super avenger and a invicta 5017 diver....try checking out this site lots of info http://www.watchuseek.com click on forums, here's some pics of my wacthes invicta was 50$ with a coupon from costco and the blue dial breitling was around 4k the seiko ran me about 300$ and the photo of the seiko is a stock photo..... :spyder:

Anybody own or know about STOWA watches from Germany?

I'm seriously thinking about getting a Stowa ANTEA 390............... :cool:



At the moment I tend to use a Leatherman CLIP Watch which I quite enjoy but would like a wrist watch for a change.

I have owned or own quite a few of the watches mentioned here. (Jewelry was my first profession, a family thing)

Seiko: Have always been good performers.

Invicta: I really like these watches.

Raymond Veil, Le Coultre, Patek Phillippe: I like them, but personnaly, too dressy for most occasions. Kept the Veil.

Luminox: Excellent and rugged

There is always Casio. My wife found a G-Shock in the grass at the park about 6 years ago. I have been beating up everyday and it's still going strong. What else can I say. Priced right and super tough. A "BEST" value imo.

Movado makes watches that are a nice compromise between dressy and rugged.

Of course I am still hoping for a Rolex Submariner :rolleyes:
