Gunshow Goodies!!!!

#1

Post by ClockWork »

Hello all...

Just wanted to share what I picked up at the Gun Show today...

I got a SE G10 Police...
ATS-55 Blade is in fantastic condition... G10 is all dirty and scratched and messy... Got it for $60

and a NIB Byrd Wrench... 40 bucks!! What a steal!
Still learning to use it... its like somekind of crazy Chinese puzzle

Does anyone know how to refinish and clean up G10? I tried Brushing it with a tooth brush and dish soap... to no success. I want to try to get that grippy Texture too it if I can... Any Info is greatly appreciated :D

Will Post pics soon, need to go to work :o

Thanks guys!!

Try nail polish remover to clean it,I have in the past let wet tissue soaked with the remover sit on the G10 for a while then used a tooth brush and dawn to clean. To get that new look back after cleaning and drying soak with militec-1,this seems to be permanent where as other oils fade off after a while.
BTW I just got a great trade at a gun show this morning on a NIB BM Rift.
Traded a Co Pilot and a Buck 110 for it.

Take it to a jewelry store and have them clean the G10 with their ultrasonic cleaner. It will remove everything including any traces of lubracant in the pivot.
The sharper they are the less they hurt when you cut yourself. :spyder:

Try rubbing alcohol, that stuff works wonders.

My G10 Police I bought lightly used was not very grippy for G10, might the nature of the G10 Police, maybe someone else can verify.
Nice score!

Excellent scores. Congrats. I would've bought 'em even if I didn't plan on it, which I normally don't do.
Also "Kaizen1" on BF, "ignoramus" on CPF & EDCF. "kaizenrei" on KF, "Kaizen" on USN.

Indeed all 3 G-10 polices I have owned were not nearly as grippy as my Millie's. The Rookie has fairly smooth G-10 as well, as are others of the same time frame.
