Assault stories? heres mine

I know these are not the most sensitive questions to ask, as someone may have gone through a traumatic experience, but has anyone here actually USED their knife in self defence, or had a knife used against yourself?

I have been in a situation where I probably should have drawn my knife to protect myself, but I didn't. To make the story short, I was jumped while leaving my ex-girlfriends house by her ex-boyfriend. Got clocked in the back of the head and shoved through a layer of drywall. I was friends with the kid, so I didn't fight back immediately, because I didn't know what he was mad about... It was a random outburst. I put up my hands to block and was rewarded with a broken finger. As I was trying to talk sense to him, he was pounding my face. I didn't think it hurt at the time, because he had cracked down from my eye socket and damaged the nerve in my cheek. After the first few punches, I remembered the knife in my pocket, but I didn't deem the situation severe enough. He probably punched me 10 times total, and then ran. I was still standing, and managed to make it home. I now have two titanium plates, one running parallel to the bottom of my eye socket, one perpendicular. He now has to pay for hospital bills and for work that I missed, along with 2 years probation. Supposively with another punch or two, I could have died because of the loose bone floating around under my eye. Luckily, it didn't even affect my eyesight.

I have also been stabbed with a boxcutter by my drunk room mate while I was curled up in a recliner, totally sober and asleep. Right into that big artery on the back of your forearm. It went about 2-2.5 inches in. Lost alot of blood, and threw up on the way to the hospital. Haha, and get this, while I was leaning out the window, my $400 Versace glasses fell off my face and were crushed by the following car.

Good times.

P.S. I know this may seem wierd, but I actually enjoyed getting jumped. I pretty much was on morphine for a week, and got to take off school. It was like a little vacation. And I broke up with that horrible girl soon as I got out. And on top of all that, I am more cautious now, and if I ever was put in that situation again, I would react quickly and violently, instead of trying to talk it out.

Yea, agreed... but I would have been able to claim SD pretty easily, what with my extensive damage to my face. You know whats cool though, it didn't mess up my face at all. I have a little line of a scar a little under my eye, other than that totally normal. The doctors did most of the work by cutting where my lips meet the gums and working up from there.

assault & battery...

I was attacked about a year ago by three punks goig to the store,
one hit me in the back of the head, like you Piercieve, I'm a peaceful
man. I didn't fight back as -

1.) they were teens ( looked to be about 15-17yrs ) if I hit them
I'D be the one going to jail.

2.) they "hit & run" ( if I chased them I probably would've got jumped
by a gang-in-waiting, who knows! )

As it wasn't a life-or-death struggle, no, I didn't sully my SE cricket.

I do, however, keep a sharper eye out when I see two or more
potential youthful offenders.

I have never had to use a knife in a fight fortunatly. There was one instant where I pulled it out and had it at the ready just in case. It was christmas day, we went to the movies and while we were waiting in the lobby, a gang fight broke out. Started just a few guys then ended up being quite a few and from where we were pinned against a wall trying to avoid it I witnessed two guys get slashed pretty bad so I pulled out my delica and had it ready incase it got any closer to us. Fortunatly it didn't but it was a very intense and scary scene. And in the end we missed the movie as we had to give wait for the police and give statments and all that. Fun way to spend christmas day. Needless to say it was the last time we went to that movie theater.

Those are horrible stories. I feel sorry for you.

I've encountered some aggressive people, luckily they either get along with name-calling or I got lost before it really escalated. (knocking on wood)

jeezzz

Sounds like you got knocked around pretty good. (To me) that sounds like a situation were drawing your knife would have be reasonable... But I'm not a lawyer, and I know how scetchy stuff like that can be... so.

I've never drawn my knife for SD or anything like that.

But once;

I deliver Chinese food as job numero tres.

I was driving down a back road, and the guy that I had been behind whipped it up to around 70 MPH plus. I paced him up to about 60 or so, and then I wouldnt go any faster.

Up ahead the guy whips onto the wrong side of the road and stops. I pass him, and he pulls behind me.
He follows me another mile or so, back toward the Chinese restaurant. Nearing the , I make a couple of extraneous turns and sharp detours in the neighboring parking lot. To really see if he's following me or whatever.

Well, He sharply pulls in front of me, and I stop. He gets out screaming and yelling, furious. "WTF is wrong with you! Fck you! Fck you F-got!!"

I step out and pull out my OC/CS spray and start yelling
"Get the Fck back in your Fcking car or your gunna get Fcking sprayed NOW!"

He got back in his car, and peeled off.

I must have been tailgating him, or maybe I accidentally flashed my lights or something.... I cant really think of anything.

Maybe I handled that wrong, and Myabe shouldn't have yelled... but oh well.

Thats pretty much my only encounter...

lol clock you shoulda sprayed him anyways to give him a life lesson

one time at a bar (that was completley empty) i sat down and ordered a beer, 2 mintues later this older guy came out telling me i was sitting in his seat even though there wasnt a single thing of his anywhere and the whole bar was empty, i talked with the guy a bit and asked him why he had to have this one spot and randomly the bar tender ran up screaming and said thats it youre gone to me ???? and all this happened for me doing nothing but grabbing a seat and minding my own business. Now the guy was getting smart and giving some prick look so i socked him in the nose and continued to kick this $^&# outa him, i left and went home.

my point being is that guy will always think twice before he just walks up to someone and bullies them for a stupid bar stool

the last couple of years I've lived in terrible areas,
I've been able to prevent altercations.
Though I had been "approached" many times.

I've also had job as security and
I remember many times running, hiding and waiting.

imagine getting a call that says: there are 3 punks
thrashing up the place, please escort them out immediately.

oh btw, I did draw my knife out many many times,
it was ready, didn't have to use it, and nobody saw it.

Never had to use a knife for self-defense.

I've been assaulted many times, as my career has me working inside a prison. Lost count of the number of times, really. Lots of bruises, etc., and a broken arm.

Situational awareness is the best tool you can initially possess.

I haven't been through nearly as much as JimD or other cops and military guys, but I've been:

Shot at (4 times)
Stabbed at (several times)
Bats swung at me (once)
My skull cracked open with a metal pipe
Scratched from broken bottles (someone trying to stab at me)
Jumped by 10+ people (kickes to the back and head)

I have several old friends who have been murdered or close to it, so I can't complain. Just some of the things that happen when growing up in a high crime area.

On my evening walks I've worn out 2 21" batons, hit with chains and bats, threatened with a knife multiple times, and been asked a couple times to join the gangs. I take knives with me, but I only draw when I lose control of my baton (we all know murphy). We have 220k ppl in the city, and at least 1 recognized gang member per 1000 ppl.

Haven't had anything broken, though I've come to love the wet crunch a solid hit from the baton gives.

I'm a pretty big guy so I haven't had many troubles. The worst thing that happened was I got sucker punched by some guy in high school, so I took a swing at him and put his teeth through his bottom lip. Personally I would never pull a knife unless it was life or death, just makes us knife owners look bad and can get you in a lot of trouble.

Shot at twice (missed!) but the most satisfying scrape was when I was a pre-teen kid. Two twenty-something thugs found me waiting for my parents outside an antique store. They approached and demanded my money, and threatened to smash me into oblivion if I did not comply. Oddly, that day I was wearing a "wrist wallet" and when these guys frisked me they did not check my wrist. They cursed me for not having any money, threatened to beat me to a pulp (again) if I told anyone, and they walked on. About this time my dad came out and I told him what happened. As I was telling him the story, a police car went by. Dad hailed the police car. As Dad was reporting the incident, these two dumb thugs had walked across the street and were now heading back our direction! I pointed them out, the cop nabbed them, and they went to jail for a couple of months. Sweeeeet.

I was overpowered by 4 muggers in a, probably stolen car, whilst cycling my normal route from work, about a year ago. I had a small knife/ CRKT clipped to my side; and my daypack had about 7 other knives, i use at work in it.
i got rammed off my bike by them, with the stolen vehicle, they chased after me with machetes and guns and took all my stuff.
i was completely overpowered by them, and the small CRKT wouldn't hav stood a chance, against their weaponery.
I was lucky to get away alive from the ordeal, with my Life.
sometimes you have to throw in the white towel or raise the white flag in certain unforseen circumstances, because your Life doesn't just mean alot to you,but YOU ARE VALUABLE to your other loved ones too.
The material loss is ALWAYS replaceable, but your life obviously not.

Lets see...this month alone I was attacked by over three hundred people...all were random attacks....I was shot at 52 times, 51 of them were all misses...(criminals have terrible aim) The one time I was hit...I took 10 rounds of 9mm to the chest, was shot twice in the back with a .44 magnum and took one blast from a shotgun slug to the head...but was able to pull at least three different knives and fend off my attackers, the doctors say the slug in my head is too close to my brain so they want to leave it there....I had a friend remove it with his Spydersaw...cept for the zig zag line in my forehead I'm feeling fine....Ten hoodlums with knives robbed me at a bus stop, because of my advanced Kung Fu training I was able to avoid getting cut using fancy footwork...one did manage to cut both of my suspenders and my pants fell down.... one look at my spyderman briefs sent them running in all directions....A band of small girls, ages two thru five, (most likely a gang) kicked me in my shins and I fell to the ground while waiting in line at Toys "R" Us....they stole my money and drove off in my Hummer...sometimes when the people who attack you are soooo ruthless you have to give them what they want and not put up a fuss....just be glad you are alive......I may never walk again from those injuried sustained to my shins.....Doc :p
