Now I know that a majority of you are collectors of these wonderful blades but..... I was just wondering what else the people here collect? I don't consider myself a collector of :spyder: 's because i use each and everyone I own. I personally collect Zippo lighters and foreign coins.

I'm also addicted to multitools and flashlights.
Just bought the Leatherman Skeletool CX and the Gerber Suspension Multi Plier Tool.
I have way too much but can't help myself :p

I "collect" vintage and unusual new production Rummikub sets and new production Mah Jong sets. I just can't seem to find the right one, much to the annoyance of my wife. ;)

i used to collect shot glasses from all the places i had traveled to, i use to work for the airlines so i traveled alot :D , too bad i wasnt collecting spydies back then. i could have gone to alot of European stores to find those rare knives. i have something like 160 of them...now i just need to build my addition to my house with a bar to display all of them. that collection has taken a back burner in the last 7 years or so...i just lost interest in it.

Sitting at ~50 knives, ~260 DVD movies (99% purchased, not burned), ~260-270 books (time for a recount and new list soon), 4 lighters (3 colibri, 1 zippo), 15+ flashlights (inova x1, x5, SF 6P w/ P61 head, numerous "disposable" lights)... and old/rare coins. Might as well add the selection of USB sticks (10-12?), external HDs (5 right now) and SD cards (17 and counting) too... have them sitting all over the place.

Pretty bad when I've usually got as many books in my bag as I do knives on me, and I've been out of school for just about 2yrs.

edit: JUST did my tech book shelving.... 90 books on that set alone, not counting the stack of linux magazines on top.

I don't really collect anything else. I do have a few Zippo's from back in the day but I no longer collect them, I just have few.

I collect some knives and use others......but I'm mainly a user. ;)

It's crossing the big pond at this moment so i'm still waiting.
I understand that the discovery channel has named it the multitool of 2008.
In the Netherlands multitools are horrible expensive so i orderd overseas.
How is the standard version? Do you use it much?

My bad. It's not the Discovery Channel but the National Geographic Magazine.

Hey, we have a LOT in common! lol

I'm not really a collector of anything, I tend to buy stuff that I know I'll use as I like to get my money's worth outta anything I buy. My wife buys these deco candles and I light them. She hates that.

As far as collecting goes, knives are pretty much it. I've got a regular rotation of purchasing kayaks and other outdoor gear, but the only real "collection"(using the term loosely) are my knives.

And now for something completely different - I collect computer motherboards. Most of the ones I have are Gigabyte, but I also have MSI, DFI, and Asus. I just can't bring myself to recycle such 'technically' beautiful boards. Oh ya, more evidence of my 'geekyness', I run Linux* too. :p

*Come to think of it, I have a collection of operating system software (somewhere) back to DOS 3.0

I would love to collect guns...
But I Dont have the money to buy guns.... but...!

With 200 bucks you can either buy:

A Hi-Point Pistol (aka the laughing stock of the gun world)
or...
A Spyderco Citadel (One of the coolest knife IMHO you can have right now)

So,

Take your pick. Which would you rather have
:) Favorites: Black Paramil w/ D2 blade, PE Mini-Manix, S90v Military, Civilian, SE Dodo, PE Police, Sage
