awright, bear with me gang, I'm not very computer literate...
say I get an iPod. The next step's to download music. Say I go
to amazon.com & want to download some Jimi Hendrix or Nirvana.
I know I've got to download a program from amazon.com to acomplish
the music download, but...
...do the music files have to be iTunes compatible? How does the
music downloading process work for an iPod anyways?
Sorry if I sound ignorant, I'm just not COMLIT.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality.

iPods are compatible with most MP3's, however, there are a few places that have downloadable MP3's that are not compatible (the WalMart music store is the immediate one that I'm thinking about); these places should have a warning somewhere prominent telling you that the songs are not iPod compatible. Just look at the site carefully before you download, and you should be fine.
