Lets see where you're from
I was inspired by lermans "lets see your face" thread. I began thinking about how many of the forumites here are located in places I may never get to visit. Another thing that occurred to me is that even if I do get to visit some of these far flung places, you can almost never experience them like a local can.
So here is the idea behind this thread, post three to five pictures of the general area/state that you live in. These can be in the country, in the city, with people, without people, whatever you want. I know that there are alot of talented photographers active in this forum so hopefully we'll all get to see some great pictures.
I'll start by saying I live in the desert southwest of Arizona, the following pictures were all taken in AZ. Enjoy :)
Pic 1 The Superstition Mountains East of the Phoenix Metro Valley. Springtime
Pic 2 Part of Oak Creek Canyon near the famous red rocks of Sedona. Fall
Pic 3 Backroad Near Sonoita AZ. This what you expect to see in the West. Early Fall
Pic 4 Camping at Big lake in the White Mountains of AZ. Late Summer
Pic 5 Another great Arizona sunset!

bh49 - Nice pics. I have to get to New England during Fall sometime.
Swingshot - Good pic. NO knife shops? WHATS UP WITH THAT? Thank God for the internet I guess. :)
Spydutch - Thanks. There has to be something cool in your town right?
Anthonyc - Nice panoramic shot. Looks like it was a beautiful NYC day.

Yablanowitz - AZ has plenty of flat parts as well. I just normally aim the camera at the "bumps".yablanowitz wrote:I'll refrain from posting pictures this time. I killed the last thread that way (vast amounts of flat and empty tend to do that) :o

View of the Fraser Valley, just below where I live.
View of the Abby, above where I live.
The ferry I take to visit my Grandkids on Vancouver Island.
And finally, a classic view of BC alpine skiing.
By the way, I scrounged all of the images above. I am not that good.

Yeah, I've heard we have some "bumps" here, but not within range of a 120x telescope.mrappraisit wrote:bh49 - Nice pics. I have to get to New England during Fall sometime.

I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

Beautiful pix Shawn, Al, and Anthonyc ....
Oops, great pix too Roman, Lerman :)
I don't really have any pix of local scenery, only knives
Here's some pix of my "home river" the Nolichucky River taken from inside the gorge... these pix are from the American Whitewater website: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... l_id_1766_
A refreshing change from the "concrete jungle" of south Florida where I grew up...
