Lets see where you're from

#1

Post by mrappraisit »

I was inspired by lermans "lets see your face" thread. I began thinking about how many of the forumites here are located in places I may never get to visit. Another thing that occurred to me is that even if I do get to visit some of these far flung places, you can almost never experience them like a local can.
So here is the idea behind this thread, post three to five pictures of the general area/state that you live in. These can be in the country, in the city, with people, without people, whatever you want. I know that there are alot of talented photographers active in this forum so hopefully we'll all get to see some great pictures.
I'll start by saying I live in the desert southwest of Arizona, the following pictures were all taken in AZ. Enjoy :)

Pic 1 The Superstition Mountains East of the Phoenix Metro Valley. Springtime

Pic 2 Part of Oak Creek Canyon near the famous red rocks of Sedona. FallImage

Pic 3 Backroad Near Sonoita AZ. This what you expect to see in the West. Early Fall Image

Pic 4 Camping at Big lake in the White Mountains of AZ. Late Summer

Pic 5 Another great Arizona sunset!

I'll refrain from posting pictures this time. I killed the last thread that way (vast amounts of flat and empty tend to do that) :o

bh49 - Nice pics. I have to get to New England during Fall sometime.
Swingshot - Good pic. NO knife shops? WHATS UP WITH THAT? Thank God for the internet I guess. :)
Spydutch - Thanks. There has to be something cool in your town right?

Yablanowitz - AZ has plenty of flat parts as well. I just normally aim the camera at the "bumps".

Anthonyc - Nice panoramic shot. Looks like it was a beautiful NYC day.

View of the Fraser Valley, just below where I live.

Image

View of the Abby, above where I live.

Image

The ferry I take to visit my Grandkids on Vancouver Island.

Image

And finally, a classic view of BC alpine skiing.

Image

By the way, I scrounged all of the images above. I am not that good. ;)

Yeah, I've heard we have some "bumps" here, but not within range of a 120x telescope. ;)
