Personally, unless something is really going down the tubes, I generally just click on population, because when we post that something is going wrong, people almost seem to overcompensate, and then there are wasted clicks.

So far, the only wasted clicks I have seen were population increases canceled out by inhabitants leaving to look for jobs. Just a thought.
