What book(s) do you plan to read?

I'm tending towards T.E. Lawrence's Seven pillars of wisdom.

Michael Scheurer, in his Imperial hubris reminded me of a noteworthy
quote from that book -
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality.

T.E. Lawrence
Of late ( at least this year ) I've been doing alot of "dreaming" during
the day.

It should make for a good read.

Any others?

"The System Of The World", the third volume of Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle.
Recommended for anyone interested in swashbuckling/adventure novels with a lot of science and history thrown in. I wonder how long the research for the trilogy took, it's intricate and detailed. :)

I recently started The Golden compass by Joseph Pullman I believe. a plan on reading the whole series of three through the holidays. And finishing the first one. in time to watch, the upcoming movie based on the novel which looks pretty good. This the book is well-done so far reminds me a lot of Charles Dickens with a serious dose of sci-fi fantasy thrown in. this

Hi Allen,
Books... there's nothing better to the mind like reading books. :)
First, as soon as I can get them, the prequel(s) to the Dune series, written by Brian Herbert (like House Atreides, House Harkonnen, House Corinno, Legends of Dune aso.).
Second, there would be Eric van Lustbader's "Sunset Warrior" series.
I also heard the Nicholas Linnear trilogy (by the same Eric van Lustbader) has in fact four parts - so I'll try to spot the missing fourth book :)
Happy reading, fellow bookworms! ;)

JBE - you'll like Ludlum's writing, very good. I collect the Travis McGee novels by John D. MacDonald I'm re-reading two or three of those while I take time off at Christmas. Enjoy you're books everyone :)

I've been reading quite a bit of Dick Marcinko's books lately. His writing style is unique, to say the least.

Soon i get a book about bowie knifes, this one:
http://www.amazon.de/Bowie-Primer-Era-K ... 770&sr=1-9

Then i´m thinking of reading the Bushido, but have to buy it first :)
I´m on Clive Barkers Books of Blood, i read it once already, but it´s a very good book, since this whole book are basicly just a whole of short stories.

Best wishes Robert

I'm a big fan of Clive Barker,
I've read Books of Blood and his other works in comic book format,
and I enjoy his movies.

Hellraiser series and Night Breed.

Take care Robert,

No use carrying'em if you don't know how to use them in self defense.
