Many prayers sent to the whole Island! I thought about DW when I saw the news yesterday, but couldn't get to the forum until now. I'm glad to hear he and the family are doing well.

I said a prayer for Chad & family as soon as I heard the news of the quake last night.

Glad to hear they're okay.

Aloha ALL,

First of all, thanks David, for starting such a thread.

Second, thanks Deac' for letting everyone know we were all okay.

Third, thanks everyone who posted.

You guys (yes, even you I consider as "one of the guys" TKC :p ) are great...

I tell you, we are used to the frequent quakes we get here on the Big Island, but this one was kinda freaky. Seemed like it lasted forever. It reached a point where I was like, "Oh man, this ain't gonna stop!" and Mrs. Daywalker thought the house was gonna fall. Deac' was not too far off in that the house was doing the hula!

Things were falling everywhere...DVD's, CD's, books falling off shelves, food was flying, and I mean flying out of the fridge, the stove, fridge, TV, comp monitor were all hopping about, cats were freaking out, power went out, my 18" Crow figure almost pushed my Obi-Wan and General Grievous to their "deaths" off a 6' shelf :p ...crazy!

Oahu and Maui seemed to have gotten it worse than we did. My sister in law who lives on Oahu was fine, but they had no power from the time of the 6.3 quake up until the late evening! Landslides here and there on aforementioned islands and here, bridges collapsed...cripes.

We felt one aftershock a bit after that rather large one.

After all was said and done, I thanked God immediately for keeping myself, my family, our properties, safe.

Mahalo you guys, and thanks to those who emailed. ;)

God bless and mahalo much :)

Glad to hear everyone's allright :)
I've never been through an earthquake but I can imagine it to be nerve recking to say the least.

Great to hear that you and your family are doing OK Chad!! I have never been in a quake and I don't think I ever want to be. Although I do believe that there is a day coming that we will all feel one.

Aloha ront,

Thanks bro...Yeah, it's a weird feeling to be sure, and I hope you never experience one in this lifetime! ;)

For a second I was thinking also during the quake that Scott's Radioactive Gamma rayed Aardvark was in my backyard, OR spydutch succeeded in his jump from the Netherlands to Hawaii, OR it was UK KEN knocking at my front door, (OR HoB for that matter)... :)

God bless ya bro and take care
