Some of the best albums of all time

#1

Post by AllenETreat »

Here's your chance to post what you feel are some of
the best music albums. I've got a few -

Axis : Bold as love ( by Jimi Hendrix )

The crazy world of Arthur Brown

The magical mystery tour ( by the Beatles )

Disraeli Gears ( by Cream )

Apostrophe ( by Frank Zappa )

Abraxas ( by Santana )

The Soft Parade ( by the Doors )

What say the augurers?

AET :D
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality.

Dear Friends,

I'll add a few to the list:

Hysteria - Def Leppard
Operation: Mindcrime - Queensryche
90125 - Yes

These withstand the most careful scrutiny, and each show what can be done sonically when artists push things to the limits. Markedly better listening when through headphones... ;)

Maybe that's why this forum rocks. There are no albums or songs above that I don't like, granted that there are some bands I never heard of.

I love a lot of the music older than I am

Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd (great to listen to when you are feeling like the world is weird)
Cream
Queen

and some of my newer favorites

Queens of the stone age
Blues Brothers (They have more than what's from the movies)

And there are many more, I just can't pick a favorite!
Basically, all the music I like is great driving music, or music about cars, or even some bands named after cars (I even think The Cars are good :D ).

I started listening to Jazz when I was a kid, but got seriously interested when rock took a dump in the late 70's and 80's(IMHO of course). I do like lots of the new stuff however.

Miles Davis-Bitches Brew
Warren Zevon-Excitable Boy Wore out more than one Album/Tape
Freddie Hubbard-Straight Life
Santana-Abraxas
Yellowjackets-The Spin
Eric Clapton-461 Ocean Blvd
Greenday-American Idiot
Kansas-Leftoverture
Jean Luc Ponty-Cosmic Messenger-Egocentric Molecules (My favorite fast driving song ever)
Take your time.......Rome wasn't built during the day.
