New SUBCOM Folder on the horizon...

#1

Post by smcfalls13 »

Just spoke with Terry over on Bladeforums, and he's informed us that a new variant of the SF is on it's way, the Tan Scale with a Partially serrated edge.

Start getting your wallets ready guys  It's time for another wave of CLB induced mayhem. :D

I'm not normally one for buying non-spyderco knives, but I've already got a 420 and aus8 subcom, and I can't wait for the tan one now. My aus8 rides IWB every day and gets used more than any other knife of mine. Now if they'd only get the sheaths straightened out for the fixed blades...

Question Chad. The current Subcoms are Magnums, this version is marked Boker Plus. Not as familiar with the Boker lineup as with Spyderco's but isn't that change a "step up" for the little guy? Love the tan, do wish they'd make a PE version in it, but will get one of the CE ones for sure.

Aloha Deac',

Ooh, you would ask me this one! Okay, honestly, I am not sure "who" makes the Boker Plus Line...the lasering looks the same as the Magnum. Terry may know the answer, or I can try to get one for you.

I lava it, er..."luv" it though...Wouter wants a SE, the Tan Biscuit has enough teeth for Arend, and you want a PE!!! I still want someone to make my old Midway SE Pattern...remember, the one with the SE in the middle of the blade?

Er...what was it you were saying about that meeting you had recently? :p

God bless knifebro

If I'm reading his post correctly, think Wouter is in the PE camp with me. :D Roger that on my meeting though. ;) Ten people, eleven different ideas, nine of which were mutually exclusive. Thought I was back on the forum. :D

As I understand it, the Magnum line are knives which meet Boker's quality standards, that are imported from the far east(China, Taiwan, etc). The Boker Plus line is a step up from Magnum, as it includes knives designed in Germany, but constructed to quality standards in the Far East. Since the SF was designed by you, that would count as a Solingen design, hence the bump up to Boker Plus.

There was no Boker Plus when the SF first came out, so it became part of the Magnum line.

As for the PE vs. SE, heck those blades are easy to swap out.

This was posted over on knifeforums.

I can't wait for a WHARCOM. I'll have to get a tan one, too. It'll be pretty messed up if these make it out before we ever see the fixed blades.
