Something that might make you all smile :)

I am on nightshift at the moment and currently I am listening to recordings of old phonograph and vinyl records from the 20ies, 30ies, 40ies and 50ies.

Some really nice and relaxing tunes from our forefathers :D

Aloha Rob F,

Heck, it's better than what they play here on the radio! :D

Right now I am listening to Pure CULT...it's like the "best of" CD...whatever happened to this kind of good music? OR, the good music you are listening to?

God bless

Aloha, Daywalker!

That's what I started wondering about some years ago. I also like the older AC/DC albums (like T.N.T, Stiff Upper Lip, High Voltage,...) and the older stuff from Alice Cooper (Trash, Killer, Welcome To My Nighmare,...). It seems that no one makes music of this kind nowadays.

I just turned 25 but when I listen to the stuff that teenagers like I just can wonder how they can stand it  Just turn on MTV and watch it for an hour. Yuk!

Cheers, Rob

Funny this thread should get brought back from the dead. Just the other night the kid found my old boom box I haven't seen in like 15-20 years. It had Nirvana "In Utero" in the cassette player and 311 "Music" in the CD player. Yes, I happily listened to both after she lost interest in it :cheap-sunglasses

Haha, I actually owned "Riding With The King" & "In Utero" on CD...I'd be happy to listen through either one at the moment.

Yeah, reading through what they were currently listening to, praising, and complaining about is fun...
So it goes.

"CD player?" What's that?
Is it anything like an "8 Track?"

Do you want to learn a really cool science experiment that you can do with an old CD?

You take a CD and set it shiny-side-up on top of an empty coffee cup in the microwave. The coffee cup is just a pedestal to get the CD off the floor of the microwave. Close the door, set the microwave on high.

Watch the CD, don't blink, and hit the "start" button. WOW! WAS THAT COOL OR WHAT?

The effect will occur after a few seconds. It's over after a few more. When it's over, it's over. There's no need to leave the CD cooking in the microwave.

This is a destructive experiment, so don't use your favorite Liza Minnelli show tunes.

My only CD player is in my truck which is a 2005. What is in there? A cd with about 100 mp3s that I made that has been jammed in there for almost ten years. I cannot remember what was even on it because besides not ejecting it also won’t play.

I got hooked on pandora years ago and now mostly listen to Spotify.
