I don't know if some of you knew this guy but he was a truly great guy and an awesome guitarist.
he's been murdered on stage during a show last night.

Bummer news

Pantera was great and it is bad that this happened BUT where the **** was the security? Thank God that Officer was there to kill this scum. He turned and fired on the crowd after killing Dimebag. Many many more people would have been killed if not for the Cops actions.

So sad when people are killed like this. By a WACKO.

Just goes to show you that no matter where you are you always need to be on guard.

Senate,

I was never into Pantera but the man had a talent fer playin'. What a senseless waste and a shame to lose someone who brought that talent and so much joy to his fans. Equally sad about the other people the shooter took from this world. Thank heaven's for the nearby police officer that prevented further destruction. Seems like nowhere is perfectly safe anymore. RIP, Darrell. :(

I'd rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6

He will be sorely missed in the metal community. Man, what's wrong with people today? I've seen Pantera twice without a single problem. At the after party, shook hands with everybody but Phil!!!!!!! Love Damageplan too.
Thanks for starting the thread, a fan.

This guy is awesome...I recently started learning the electric guitar, and his stuff w/ Pantera was some of what inspires my chugging palm muting riffs!

I've had the chance to meet Darrell and hang out with him on a number of occassions, genuiely a nice guy, very down to earth, he never let the fame go to his head. He will be missed.

God bless you bro!
You're either on my side or in my way!
