IDs and Registration to Buy Knives!

BUY NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE

Some of the knife laws in the EU and USA are bad. How many countries in the EU have laws where you go to the store to buy a knife and they register all of your personal information?

In China they record all personal information and there is a barcode on the knife.

Soon to be coming to the USA? Laws that restrict the sale of knives? Background checks to buy a knife?

UK is not member in EU … it is special in „some“ regards ;)

IMHO there is no registration of personal information in EU-countries and in my home country Austria is even no limitation concerning knives … actually as Austrian with my „knife-practice“ I would have more troubles in the USA as I wish.

Norway, also not EU is weird in many ways.
The laws for actual carry and use of a knife are unclear to say the least, and there is some limitations as to what you can own (e.g. no ballisongs, autos etc.), but no one (yet) cares who owns a knife, what knives or how many.

I sometimes get the impression US citizens believe they enjoy more freedom than anyone else, and on average I guess that holds true, but when you get down to the specifics you guys sometimes have me scratch my head. Especially on state level.
I'll refrain from bringing up examples that are politically spicy, but a rather mundane example that comes to mind is silencers. In Norway they are subject to the same regulations as oil filters and any other cylinder with a thread, i.e. none at all. As I believe it should be for a device that's basically just user PPE, but last I checked this was still subject to a rather tedious and expensive application scheme in the US.

Firearm, knife and most other laws in the US are at the whims of whoever is in power at the City, County, State and Federal. This goes for everything and it is unfortunate.

Some are as insane as to not understand the US Constitution or Bill of Rights and refuse to read foundational documents and arguments at the Constitutional Conventions before the USA became a reality. They think that the words have magical meaning and ignore all historical precedence.

The only thing that you can count on with 100% certainty is that as the calendar moves forward citizens have fewer rights.

I wonder if they will attempt to barcode and register every piece of wood and every hand-sized rock?
