Enjoyed this one too much last week, plus work flow has been busier this week so I've got to test this Magnacut as much as possible! I also really enjoy the Small 31 for use. Small, but not too small and easily handles any task. Only gripe is I panic bought the double lug and had to pay $15 shipping...because they were selling out instantly. Now KnifeWorks has one for $50 less than I paid just sitting there for over a day haha.

Still carrying my small Sebenza in lowly S45VN(which I've actually been very pleased with). A couple days ago it went snowshoeing with me.

I've never been lost. A bit confused for a month or three maybe, but never lost.

They really are great knives, definitely still some of the best of the budget crowd all these years later. I really do enjoy carrying and using it, the handle shape in use is $$$ and it's so easy to get "stuck" on in rotation. add in an almost perfect detent, good HT (in aus8) and a great action and build quality...

I wish Spyderco and some others would use Aus8 again, when it's done right it is an excellent steel to carry, use and sharpen!

That's a good question Shannon. I wonder if VG-10 is deemed to be a better budget steel in Japan than AUS-8. They wouldn't use it in China for the value line since China has its own budget steel 8Cr13MoV. But as a Japanese steel AUS-8 could be a good budget alternative to VG-10. I used it for years before I discovered premium folders and had no complaints minus maybe the manufacturer running it too soft. I think AUS-8 trades a little edge retention in favor of toughness when compared to VG-10. Maybe there is a better relationship with the manufacturer or some other attribute of VG-10 they prefer.
