New model for me. I have been eyeing this one for a long time. Before I grabbed the Inkosi in fact.

I think it is just this style, but I really like it. Just substitute a drop point Sebenza.

Seriously. ZT should have a warranty on this blade similar to Esee. I'm going to go out back after stabbing a car door with it and batoning wood to jamb it into a tree as a climbing step. I think it will do just fine.

Small 31 Insingo and the Smock share a very similar edge. I've grown very fond of the wharnie/sheepsfoot over the past few years. No wonder I've always loved the Smock, even though that cutout can be annoying at times.

I have a feeling I'm going to really like this Small 31 Insingo. Slightly longer edge, no cutout and a much smaller package as well.

Guess we'll put Magnacut to work right away today. Need 3 different 12ft lengths of hydraulic hose cut.

Looking forward to your impressions. My only experience with MC has been a CRK LG 31, but I've been really impressed so far... Despite being a tool steel guy, it may be my favorite stainless steel I've used. Really getting impatient to try Spyderco's implementation of it.

Even better than S90V? That's my stainless standard, as I too am a tool steel guy.

Yea, I definitely want to give a Spyderco Magnacut heat treat a try here at some point, but I figured CRK probably does it well. I'll roll this factory edge for a bit and then put my own on. So far no complaints today. Nothing mind blowing, but nothing disappointing yet either.

It really is. The swedge does something similar to your Zaan where it goes away at the tip. Thickens up a bit there. I need to get the edge down though. Quick like. I'm going to aim for around 15dps. That and some Micarta is planned.

First day back at work post-covid, had to up the ante a bit for Micarta Monday.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Sounds like a great plan :)

The Bugout clip (or any Benchmade clip) works better than the stock clip IMO BTW.

Got my first MagnaCut folder. I compromised and got a righty, who knows when they'll make a run of a lefty MagnaCut Sebenza in any configuration? Was surprised to catch this in stock, even more surprised that they sat in stock for the hour or more that it took for me to convince myself to drop the not insignificant cash on a right handed CRK(I'm left handed, for those who don't know). Check that born on date, I ordered the knife on Saturday from a retailer. That's a fast track from manufacturer to consumer.

I've never been lost. A bit confused for a month or three maybe, but never lost.

I actually had a leftover MXG that would work, but this knife was $200 used at a local store. Didn't look like it cut anything. It actually came with a Lynch and the standard clip. Definitely an improvement.

Man that grind looks great on yours. I wish I was bold enough to try that myself.

Did you order from DLT or KSF? That is one heck of a turnaround.

The good news is that Sebenzas hold their value well. You’ll be able to sell that on, should you wish to, without losing much.

Classic shape. Love the swedge.

I think this is the kind of knife that Benchmade did best. Clean and simple.
