I had the first generation Deka scales are different but the screw inserts for clip disintegrated on two knives nd gave up and was refunded a Manix 2 . Really wanted to like the knife . Dan

Oh, that's unfortunate. I hope they can improve that deficiency in future releases.
Have either of you tried the Benchmade Bugout?
I hear aluminum or titanium scales bring them to another level. 🤔

I haven't tried a Bugout. I'm happy with my Griptilian, and models from other companies always seem to be pushing the Bugout back in the list of knives to try.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Honestly, I think I could carry a Bugout every day and be perfectly happy. It does all the things, and carries a lot smaller than any of my Spydies.

I suppose I could say the first part is true about my Sebenza too, but not the second part.

Lucky for me, I don’t have to choose! Today, I carried my PM2 in my jeans, and my Bugout in my bike shorts. ;-)

Yeah, I should track down one of the Bugouts with the G10 scales next year.

For today though, I feel like carrying a boat anchor --ZT 0095 in pocket

I keep saying I need to carry my Bugout more. It really is a great simple design. G10 scales make it so much better.

Rex45 Guardian 3 and GiantMouse Ace Jutland with me today. Creely Mako in my backpack, because it's a permanent addition now forever until I can snag one of his Rex121 Makos

My newest other isn't in my pocket--

I'll post pics another time, but it's a Becker Kephart. After some minor edge honing on the sharpmaker it performed remarkably well in a kitchen test, cutting cabbage, celery and carrots as well as frozen hot dog.

My initial tests on seasoned Doug Fir were slightly underwhelming, but not surprising as the bevel is quite coarsely ground with deep grind lines.

I will even up, lay back, convex and polish the bevel which should help the wood carving performance.

The current coarse edge with medium microbevel is nice for food though.

Haven't busted out the calipers, but i think it is thin BTE.

The 1095 seems harder than my GECs etc. Will take it to the waterstone probably tomorrow.
