Re: RIP Christine McVie
She and Stevie were such an auditory juxtaposition, and complemented each other in their differences. On “Dreams”, the back up that Christine and Lindsey laid down would make the song very much lesser if not present- even with Stevie’s haunting vocals on lead

It's funny, I remember her Christine Perfect album. Probably saw her on some TV music show, but I never realized she later became Christine McVie. Just don't follow music that closely.
Like the sound, enough for me.

Re: RIP Christine McVie
It’s only in recent years that I began to realise her talent and contribution. RIP.
Re: RIP Christine McVie
She lived to 79 years old. It's telling that the older I get (I'm 59), 79 seems fairly young for someone to pass away.

Jim,
If you think about it with all of them that have passed lately and how old they are, most of them and how old we are..
It's really the ones who are still young that bother me the most, I am not talking about the ones who OD or drink themselves to death either.

Time seems to accelerate, doesn't it?
But as we age, we can say that we made it this far!

Professional musician in general doesn't seem to be a profession that begets a long life. Whether it's due to lifestyle choices, self-deletion, accidents, nefarious causes, etc. Lots of people in the entertainment industry in general seem to pass on prematurely. But that could be because entertainers are a glimpse of everyday people, and it only seems they die young at a higher rate because we hear about it.
I once asked my brother why he never became part of a big, world-famous band. He certainly has the guitar talent for it, and has been well-known doing local gigs since the early 1970s. His wife (who used to sing for the local bands) chimed in and said, "If he had been in a major band, he'd probably be dead by now." Which was probably more accurate than not.
As for Christine McVie, she lived a very long and successful life as a musician, longer than many.
