Re: What "others" are in the mail?
You guessed it, a couple more Case knives. One traditional in s35VN! And the DLT exclusive.
I also found an OK secondary market price on a White Owl from GEC. I do love a good single back spring dual bladed knife. It seems only GEC makes them anymore.

Trying out a Artisan Cutlery Centauri front flipper before I decide if I want to get my first custom knife(front flipper).

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
I have the mini version that I believe is a Knife Center exclusive and I really like it. It actually get into my pocket more than a lot of other knives I have. The front flipper thing takes a little getting used to but it's a non-issue for me now. Whether or not I went for a custom front flipper would largely depend on the overall design but I might. I'm so used to flipper tab being on the back that it's more second nature to me than a front flipper but I'm getting there
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: What "others" are in the mail?
i'd love a little case copperhead wharncliffe in s35vn or magnacut.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
i've been strong resisting the chinese brands since coming to spyderco, but i couldn't resist when i saw the kansept hellx in black and purple. it looks like a big knife that has similar ergos to the manix. for $57, i'll take d2. my ceo was more than that for the d2 version. im pretty much weaned off of flippers at this point, but at least it's not assisted and looks like it has smooth action from the bearings. i'll have to report back when i have it in hand.

So far, just the Trapper and Stockman. Hopefully the Copperhead and the Sodbuster will be next.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
I've actually got a couple coming. I bought a TOPS Wild Pig Hunter from Knife Center & a Kizlyar Phoenix 1 Combat U8 LE, off a gent from Blade Forums
Both are new. Here's a couple stock photos
Edit- oh man....next time I'll do my due diligence...although, it's not all bad. What I mean is that after I had bought the Pig Hunter, I found out that it came from the Russian Phoenix 1, and that the Phoenix was actually quiet a bit thinner......but, lo and behold, this Limited Edition Combat U8 all carbon blade was made about 30% thicker, lol.....so I may have buy a regular Phoenix 1.
Btw, I absolutely LOVE Russian Blade Designs..
And the Phoenix 1 Combat LE

Victorinox Ranger. Good replacement for both the Huntsman and Mountaineer as it has the wood saw and the metal file, plus a couple more back tools.
Re: What "others" are in the mail?
I have a GEC #35 cattle knife en route. I'm pretty excited about this one.
Re: What "others" are in the mail?
I tried to find every excuse possible not to buy this knife, but whatever excuse I could find for not buying it, the seller had a solution. In the end, I had no recourse but to give her all my money.
It started off about two months ago. I saw a video for a knife that was going to be released in a couple days. I thought to myself that it's a VERY cool knife, but I just don't need to squander my cash on another shiny bauble.
The knife went on sale and sold out quickly. The temptation was gone. After a month or so, the interweb jockeys were all complaining about not being able to find the knife in stock. My interest was reinvigorated.
There is a local dealer who originally had some, but was showing no current inventory. I had to ask.
You have any of the XXXX YYYY knife?
Yes, I have some.
But I'm only interested in the tanto.
Yes, that's all I have.
Oh. But I really like your exclusive ironwood scales.
That's the one I have.
But you show a leather slip, I want the kydex sheath.
It comes with the slip, but I'll throw in the kydex sheath.
Hmmm...
And I'll pay shipping.
I'll think about it.
Just send the asking price, and I'll send it off today.
Payment sent. Wrap her up.
It's a cool knife.
But it's not a Spyderco.
I don't know if I'll like carrying it.
I'll send pics after it arrives tomorrow afternoon.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
Well, that's piqued my interest.

One of my old others is in the mail going to a new home and my newest other is in my mailbox waiting for me!
Sold a SOG that was one of the unlucky few that met its fate in my recent “others” purge.
I’m very surprised with myself for actually taking the plunge and purchasing a non-Spyderco again. Aside from those two Lionsteel I shared recently, I’ve been 100% exclusively Spyderco for nearly a decade.
It was a pure impulse purchase: The deal was too good to be true, it supported a good cause, and it’s an awesome design from my favorite knife designer. Ultimately, I couldn’t say no. It’s the D Rocket Designs MaximX by Darriel Caston. Pics coming as soon as possible!

**** has frozen over!
<--- Nick!
I figured I'd see this guy with a Spyderco face tattoo before I'd see him I'm this thread haha!
Looking forward to seeing it, as I have no clue what to expect.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
LOL! That’s pretty much exactly how I felt too! I didn’t know if it was possible anymore.
I didn’t know what exactly it was going to take to get me to buy a non Spyderco but it seems like mid-tech quality level at production level pricing was the right formula.

Have a 20CV Bugout with gray G10 inbound. Very interested to get it as I've not experienced 20CV or a Bugout. Curious to give Benchmade another go as well - my only other experience with them was a 154CM Grip I got in 2015 and recently sold after alternating years of abuse and disuse.

The ZT is a nice knife. My only ZT. Handle shape reminds me of a Delica. Just gotta keep your fingers off the lockbar and then it flicks open really well.

Re: What "others" are in the mail?
Right on! It’s honestly been the only ZT I’ve had my eye on for quite a while. Nothing else really does it for me from them.Capt'n Boatsalot wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 9:58 pmThe ZT is a nice knife.
