I have a ton of respect for Pujols, so at this point in his career if he's going to crush it...good for him!

Yep, watching it now! What a great division rivalry we have building here. Both teams playing some great baseball.

This Ashby kid blows. Can't even hold a 1st inning lead at the bottom of the inning, on top of all his erratic pitching so far this year. Of course they signed him to a sizeable contract...but later Hader walk (yes I know he will cost A LOT next year, but I'm talking THIS YEAR)

I just can't with this team anymore. Either they pitch great, but only score 0-3 runs (any time Burnes pitches). Or they pitch terribly and score 6-9 runs and end up losing in a shootout. What's so hard about putting together a **** game that you win 7-2 or something along those lines! :cussing

I can't either. I have to check out from them this year. I'm trying, but can't quite get there yet. It's just frustrating.

Josh Hader since July 4:

12.34 ERA, 11.2 IP, 18 H, 16 R, 16 ER, 8 BB, 20 K, 3 HBP.

Aaron Ashby signed a 5 year / $20,500,000 contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, including a $1,000,000 signing bonus, $20,500,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $4,100,000. Contract Notes: 2028 Club Option includes a $1M buyout.

So, Ashby, per year, will cost the Brewers a third of what they would have been paying Hader. He's a promising 24 year old pitcher, only his second year in the bigs. The Crew have an excellent history of developing talent. Burnes, Peralta and Woodruff all came up through the organization.

I feel for you fans that get to watch them every day. It wouldn't be so frustrating if we didn't know they have so much potential!! This is an awful month, but thankfully other wild card contenders are struggling as well.

Yeah, but at this point we're battling for the last wild card spot, and not looking good doing so.

Well, we could be looking at some free baseball tonight. After 8 it's tied 1-1
However, I think ATL blew their chance. Bottom of the 8th, 2 on 0 out, we then pop out and hit into a double play. Have feelin the Astros might win this one.

I am ready to acknowledge that they will miss the playoffs this year, ending a really nice, but ultimately underachieving streak. You are 100% correct, it wouldn't matter if they didn't have so much potential. They have an incredible pitching staff, including they Cy Young winner only eating six million of the payroll. It's just a shame, and a waste.

When Goose was with the White Sox, I got to see him pitch a few innings at Class A Appleton WI, on a rehab assignment. Nobody crowded the plate. ;)
