I'd honestly never count the Cardinals out either. Probably the most respected division rival I have against any of my favorite teams in any sport. They just know how to win! Adding a couple starting pitchers at the deadline that can finally get run support from a team that can hit, that's smart moves. They proved it late last season, they can get extremely hot...won something like 17 games straight or something ridiculous, and this season they have an even stronger team now at this point.

The playoffs this year will epic, I do believe!
Larry, I think the N.L. Pennant will come down to the Mets & your Dodgers man.
I really believe New York ( Mets) have something really special this year. I feel that IF they beat Freddie Freeman & the Dodgers they will win it all. I know the Yanks are awesome this year and I feel they will win the A.L. but, just somewhat about the Mets having Scherzer & DeGromm - those two are a lethal duo.
I'm with you Paul, DeGrom is probably the best on the planet and Scherz is right behind him. Both are rolling right now and LA has won 30 out of the last 35! Steamrollin' teams, but there is still 8 weeks to go. We have an embarrassment of riches for sure.

Dog days of summer is coming though and about the time for teams to go on big runs and get hot. 7 upcoming games with the Brew-crew in the next few weeks then 3 with the Mets in NY. Should be fun!
Wow. I didn't realize the Dodgers had won their last 30 of 35!!
Just wow..

I would agree a 1,000% with you, Rick.
Those Red Birds can really get it done & they have such a rich history of winning.

Yep, Pujols is still dangerous. Now we have 4 games with the Dodgers. That's going to be tough.

We are playing the Rockies ( who spanked us last time ) and then go to Arizona . We have a five game series with the Cubs at Chicago which will be tough .

Brewers play the Cubs in Chicago after the Dodgers series. The rest of this month will tell the tale.

At this point in the season, the going gets really rough, a lot of baseball has already been played. Some teams just fold, some thrive.....and some hang on for dear life, lol.....I feel sorry for catchers, in particularly, the ones in the South with no climate control.
Middle of August in Atlanta, Georgia on a brutally HOT Sunday afternoon.....man!
I remember many times seeing Brian McCann in that very situation, his face as red as a beet when he pulled that catchers mask off.....mercy

Brew Crew plays the Dodgers twice in their next 3 series...Sadly, I see them being around 8 games back to the Cards after that stretch. I hope they can prove me wrong though!

Never know buddy . Rangers spanked us hard in Colorado and Arizona can also be tough at home . The Cub series in Chicago will not be a friendly game after sweeping them in St. Louis. This time of year teams with nothing to lose can rise to the occasion , I can’t take nothing for granted . Dan

Gonna try to catch every game Rick! Good to have some non-west coast start times, those late night games just wear me out :yawn

Hopefully they know they have to put their big boy pants on tonight! Not going win against the Dodgers, scoring 3 runs!

Love watching Julio pitch he's such a bulldog, but too many runners on base so far. Peralta is so good too! Probably gonna be a low scoring game tonight Rick!

Peralta better get some control if we're going to stand a chance here. That 4th inning was scary!! That's always been his flaw, throws a ton of K's but he's also pretty erratic at times.

Yikes! I didn't even realize that. Most he's had since he's been back. Hope this is a good sign for his health. Now comes the shitshow haha!
