Cool video! Looks like a fun experience raising the caterpillars into full grown moths.

How are these tiny ants able to clear an ant highway?
The path shown runs from my driveway to my neighbor's driveway
but the ant highway begins before my driveway
and continues well after my neighbor's driveway.

Click on the link below and then on the small Google photo
to start a 13 second video of poor quality,
but the ant engineering is impressive.

A few mornings ago
more than a hundred cattle egrets
descended on the north 40 (my backyard).
to breakfast on thousands of grasshoppers.

An attempt with a pano feature on my iphone failed.
A fragment of it appears below.

Image

Then I tried taking a series of zoomed in pictures left to right.

Image

Yes, that is a coyote at 3 o'clock.
I gotta get a real camera with a telephoto lens.

Still a great shot Mac ! Your place looks so beautiful. I’ve only seen a coyote in my backyard once several years ago late at night after my German Shepard woke me up . I. Warned neighbor across street , he thought I was crazy . Next night they ripped apart his rabbit hutch and lost all his rabbits .

My new hound dog Ginger has to get the credit for spotting this one.
She barked, took off and drove it farther away
while I scrambled the 220 Swift.
This one was a shoot and release.
In other words, I missed.

Here is a post I made a while back on the hunting thread.

Nice choice of round for coyotes. I got to know three young guys at work before retiring that are avid coyote hunters . They harvested 68 two years ago not sure of total last year . They use 223 or 556 on their hunts . There is a bar that has a coyote kill competition. You have to sign up ahead of day and most taken that day is the winner .

On a chilly 40 degree morning in October of 2017
the game camera I had set up
over the remains of a hog we had processed
caught this Caracara
of the eponymous Byrd knife.

Smaller Black Vultures will not contest a Caracara for carrion
but the turkey buzzards in the picture are much larger
so the "Mexican Eagle" is social distancing.

What a great shot . We have Turkey Buzzards here also they catch thermos and soar over our house frequently. I have only had one in yard clean up,after a Great Horned Owl killed a Raccoon . He was very tidy nothing was left when he flew off . Dan
