RIP, Olivia Newton-John

#1

Post by James Y »

She was one of my favorite female vocalists in the '70s and the '80s. She had health issues these past few decades. Rest in peace.

This was the first song of hers I ever heard, back in 1974 or '75:

She was stunning in Grease (1978):

I am truly heartbroken. Olivia Newton John and Linda Ronstadt were my two biggest crushes on women I ever had. And to see them all go away at such a rapid rate is truly heartbreaking.

Olivia truly had one the sweetest voices ever. Her and Joan Baez were probably my two favorite female singers. My condolences to her family.

RIP. She was never one of my favorite singers, but she brought a lot of joy to many people, not like the trashy bunch we have nowadays.

She always gave the impression of being such a positive, down-to-earth soul, even throughout all of her health challenges. Of course, I didnt know her, nor did I ever meet her, so I could be wrong about that. But I choose to believe that's how she really was.

I agree. I loved her personality and voice, and her courage in fighting cancer for so long too. I'm sure going to miss her....

She was one really classy lady with a super good and sweet voice. With all the newer garbage I hear in the music industry at this time it really hurts to see such a class act come to a complete ending.

All these great ladies of the 70s like Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins and so many more great female singers I could name are all getting old and will all be gone before we know it unfortunately. And I don't think they'll be replaced anytime soon either.

OLIVIA!!! I hope your singing with the Angels my dear!!
