I inherited my love of practical jokes from my father. In my book, The Mystery of Lost River, I tell about some cattle rustlers making a contraption from a 55 gallon drum, leather hide, and a rosined leather sting that sounded like a giant monster. The men set it out on a dark night on a river bottom and scarred everyone. they were cattle thieves. The cattle rustling was based on a real story and the monster was a practical joke my father played. When I was a kid people were still talking about the beast of black swamp. Hahaha!

😄

Doc, that sounds exactly like something the bad guys did in the original Scooby-Doo cartoons. "And I would've gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!"

I forgot to finish my thought. My father is the one that thought that one up and scared the folks in the area with his roaring monster. Hahaha! That's where I got the idea in the book. The story about the rustling is based on real events, other than the monster, however.

Feral People Hunt Teen Hiker

This account took place in northern CA, on the Pacific Crest Trail. However, I have heard of far more encounters with feral people in the Appalachians. Personally, I would rather encounter a Bigfoot creature out in the wilderness than a feral person, or a group of feral people. Even if I were well-armed.

Missing 411 David Paulides Presents Missing Person Cases From Alaska (2) and British Columbia

Mr. Paulides gets to the missing person cases starting from 24:45. But to anyone who is truly interested in this subject, I highly recommend listening to the reading of the letters from the start, and to watch the video to the end, where he briefly reiterates (for the 1,000th time) that there are differences between common, standard causes of disappearance cases, and those with specific patterns that match the profile points for inclusion into the Missing 411 research. Meaning, he doesn't think that EVERY disappearance is unexplainable; not even close. Missing 411 cases are only a small percentage of all missing person cases. But there are still a LOT of them.

I mention this because countless people out there continue to mention David Paulides and/or his Missing 411 work, and it's painfully obvious from their comments that they have NOT actually studied the cases directly from the source, and continue to make assumptions like, "But the disappearances could be easily explainable, like simply getting lost, or animal attacks." There are even people who say that Paulides claims it's Bigfoot that is taking people...which he has NEVER ONCE claimed, nor ever even implied. Proof positive that people are making things up, or are quoting third-hand BS put online by people who are actively running a smear campaign, who do not want anyone thinking outside of the box, and want it to just go away. But the research is not going away. It's gaining more and more traction, including with many highly knowledgeable people.

I think the guy in the second clip is probably on something. But you never know. Skinwalker? Possessed? Simply high or insane? Who knows. Either way, I sure wouldn't want to mess with him.

Pennsylvania Dogman/Upright Canine Roundtable & Discussion - Chestnut Ridge Report - Lon Strickler (Host)

This is a 90-minute video, but we'll worth it if you're interested in cryptids like Dogman, Bigfoot, etc. All five men, including host Lon Strickler, are real, boots-on-the-ground researchers and experiencers, not just people who study from a keyboard. They also discuss the possible paranormal, and/or interdimensional aspects of these creatures, which is a conclusion I personally arrived at years ago.

Host Lon Strickler is a decades-long researcher who runs his Phantoms and Monsters site, from which I have shared many of the reports and accounts he's published here in this thread. He also published my own 'Entity Encounter in Taiwan' account on his site about 6 years back.

Wild Men and Feral Humans - in Our National Parks???

Encounters with feral humans are some of the creepiest and most disturbing. Although many Bigfoot creatures are reported to have faces more human-like than ape-like, and oftentimes Bigfoot and feral human territories seem to be in close proximity, or may even overlap in some areas; IMO, feral humans are totally different from Bigfoot creatures. Adult-sized Bigfoot creatures are massive, far beyond the size of even the largest human beings, and possessing FAR greater physical power.

From several accounts I have heard, feral humans are just that; wild human beings. Probably inbred, and who have most likely been that way for many generations. Some are probably (relatively speaking) *slightly* closer to civilized than others, but some are probably not too far off from the cannibal family that was portrayed in the 2003 horror movie "Wrong Turn." And many are probably even more wild and animalistic than that. Not the types of people that anyone, no matter how tough, should ever want to encounter.

The Untold Story of Centralia, Pennsylvania (The Real Silent Hill)

*Video below*

The real amazing part of this story is how the people in charge screwed up BIG TIME, and created an environmental disaster that's been going on for 60 years, and may never end.

As for reports of paranormal activity in the long-abandoned town, some will say it's the fumes that cause hallucinations. Which may very well be a possibility.

It's also possible there is real activity there, even if no one died in the disaster. Believe it or not, it's not uncommon for once-active buildings or towns that have been abandoned to develop paranormal activity. My personal theory (with no real proof, only a theory) is that when places that were once full of life, energy and activity are abandoned, it creates an 'energy vacuum' that may attract various entities to the location...or to become more active, if they already inhabited the land in the area. Not necessarily "ghosts." Could be elementals, fae, 'djinn', or any number of things. Not saying that's the case here, simply putting that out there as a possibility; because it seems to be a pattern. This type of thing happens in a LOT of abandoned places, the vast majority of which do NOT have any toxic gasses to blame for hallucinations.
