Black dogs look better on the bin. Gino Vannelli was rocking our house today.

This is one of the last walks we took in the park with Max, the fastest and smartest dog I've ever known. He was also fed daily sausages and meatballs in his final weeks at my mom's.

ImageSarge my German Shepard 22 years ago when just a pup . Not long after picture was taken a Lab mix roughed him up when Sarge ran out to greet him . I was not happy , owner thought it was funny . The next year Sarge ran out to meet him again and things went differently. He remembered and bit part of his testicule off . Best dog I ever had the pleasure to have as a friend . Dan

In the northeast corner of my property
we have a pet cemetary.
After the fifth one passed away,
I contacted Martus Stone monument company
to ask them about pet markers.
They had done the grave stone for my parents
and a cenotaph for my grandfather.

My Dad was a fierce Texas patriot
and I wanted to get Texas red granite for his marker.
But that cost twice as much as Georgia gray granite.
The company owner discouraged the idea.
The reason Texas red granite cost so much
was because it often concealed hidden cavities.
They would put a lot of time into a stone
then cut into a cavity
and waste all the work.

On a previous visit I had seen their scrap pile.
So I suggested that the five pet markers could be scraps
from engraving errors, flaws, cracks, blemishes, rejects,
unpaid stones and so forth.
The stones would be laid flat, did not have to be polished
or have finished edges or be the same size or shape.

For a mere $250 for all five stones
here is what they came up with.

Yes. It is Texas red granite.

My wife and I were dog sitting for my son's family
while they spent a week at Disney World.

Left to right, better-half's Izzy terrier mutt,
my Brandy, a hound of uncertain pedigree,
son's mother-in-law's Dachshund Shadow in the recliner,
son's rescue mongrels Pluto and Matilda.
Ginger, my rehomed Tennessee Treeing Brindle,
is on coyote overwatch in a stuffed armchair out of the picture.
No, they're not spoiled.

Oh! I forgot to tell yall......we got yet another.......Goldendoodle lol.....that makes 4....
Actually, Finn is an English Goldendoodle. He was gifted to us by my brother in law. They had 6 male pups. The prettiest pups you've ever seen.....my wife couldn't resist. I could however....but, that really didn't matter.... at any rate, I believe he is the sweetest dog I've ever saw. He has such a good temperament.
Anyways, here's Finn 😃 ....it's hard to see the little farts eyes...

As her son sits on the floor! :rofl

Our little chunker is the same way, sleeps sideways in bed between my wife and I...and she's already closer to the middle by the time I get to bed...so you know how much space I'm getting every night :straight-face
