I think my favorite of the old Warner Brothers Looney Tunes characters was Daffy Duck, when he was truly daffy, and BEFORE he became Bugs Bunny's fall guy.

I think this show was already mentioned, but since Amazon added ADAM-12, I've been watching a fair bit of it lately.

I remember Shaun Cassidy's popularity with the girls really shot up as a teen idol. I think Shaun Cassidy's popularity even eclipsed that of his older brother, David. Parker Stevenson became an afterthought.

Speaking of David Cassidy, he was also a big teen idol for girls back in the early '70s.

The scenes of birds carrying the other animals looks a lot funnier to me now than it did back then.

The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan (1972)

This cartoon was fairly progressive in its portrayal of Asian-Americans for its time. Believe it or not, even better than many of the portrayals in American TV and cinema are today. However, I was never really a big fan of the show myself. There were too many kids (I think 10), and even though I know the old Charlie Chan character had (I think) a dozen kids, they still could've whittled the number down at least to half that, for more individuality. I also never found the storylines to be particularly special. I didn't think it was a bad show; some weeks I watched it, and some weeks I didn't. Me being Asian-American doesn't necessarily mean the show was must-see TV for me.

Thankfully, the songs that the fictional Chan Family band played in every episode were not stereotypical, but were typical Hanna-Barbera cartoon bubblegum pop-style songs of that era.

What I hated was the theme music, which was clearly based on the "Oriental Riff," which is an old generic musical cue created by Westerners in the 1800s that's been used to represent "Asian" music. Oriental Riff was also used in the 1980 song "Turning Japanese," a song I still despise to this day.

Charlie's Angel's (1976 - 1981)

Farrah Fawcett was only in Season 1 of this show, but she became a '70s icon because of it. Lots of girls copied her hairstyle back then, especially blondes. A lot of the guys I knew in school were into Farrah Fawcett. But to be honest, I thought Jaclyn Smith was the most attractive of the three. Though I wasn't a big fan of the show; I only watched it a few times during the early part of its original run.

Yes, I agree with you about Jaclyn Smith by far.

Farrah Fawcett was a huge deal back then with her poster just about everywhere. I even had one of my teachers with one of her hanging in the classroom.

Then we had Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts later on and Shelly Hack.

I remember seeing that Farrah Fawcett poster, with her big smile, in other kids' rooms. Your teacher must have REALLY had a thing for her to have one in the classroom. 🙂

I thought Cheryl Ladd was sexier-looking than Farrah Fawcett. I had seen her featured on the cover of a People magazine, as Farrah's replacement, pictured together with the other Charlie's Angel's cast members. But by then, I wasn't watching the show; not that I ever watched it regularly in the first place.

I watched an episode the other day that featured Cheryl Ladd. I didn't realize it a the time, but she was absolutely stunning.

IMO, Cheryl Ladd was the best-looking of ALL of Charlie’s Angels; even better than Jaclyn Smith. I know this sounds shallow, but who cares. Women say the same types of things about men all the time.
