Re: Chris Reeve Knives
That looks nice, but wish they did Insingo with Magnacut on a regular also.
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Yikes! Gonna be on the hunt for one of these!
I love that they finally added the Insingo option for wood inlays, too bad they don't allow the polished option. However, this seems promising for getting a Magnacut replacement blade.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
Do you guys keep the convex edge or just sharpen it to regular edge when re sharpening?
Re: Chris Reeve Knives
As of lately I’ve been putting a convex edge on knives that didn’t come with them and I am thoroughly enjoying it, but if need to touch up I just use the sharpmaker. So initially, or if a full resharpening/repair is needed I go convex. Touch up/micro bevel with a sharpmaker. Works for me.
I don’t get the “zen” from sharpening. I want a shaving sharp knife as fast as possible so I use this and the sharpmaker for touch ups. They have become my go to sharpening tools for the last year or so? I wouldn’t change a thing. I never used the original style work sharp but this attachment makes it an absolute game changer. And yes, I have used it to restore and maintain CRK edges and it’s phenomenal.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I had a worksharp the kind for knives with the little slot/guide thing and I could never really get it to do what I wanted. I really like the kme if I need some serious sharpening to happen. I sharpened my dad’s chipped native the other day with just a pocket diamond plate “coarse” and i was cursing myself for not bringing something better lol

I keep it for a bit, but eventually sharpen them to 15-17 dps. I get such cleaner cuts that way.

LOL. I get yelled at whenever I mention an electric sharpening tool! I'm considering that very one, however.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
It looks like it would work, bit you'd have to be very careful. Just out of curiosity, how much is the set up?

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
The majority probably haven’t used this set up. Sure it takes some getting used to but after a couple knives it’s so easy and it yields great results. It won’t overheat the knife. Don’t listen to them, get one for yourself and see. I love it. You can free hand sharpen anything with this, or darn near. It’s done every knife I’ve needed and made them sharper than new out of the box.
it works and works well and is very adjustable. After a couple knives you get the feel for it, If you don’t have the work sharp already (I didn’t, bought the whole thing from their website) it’s $199.95 and worth every penny. I think the attachment itself is half that or something I’m not sure. Their belts last, I haven’t and probably won’t try aftermarket ones.
It also makes reprofiling to a lower angle a breeze. As with everything, it’s not for everyone and YMMV. But it is definitely for me.

Well, I finally joined the CRK club. I’ve been waiting on this one to come in stock for what seems like years. Y’all are not kidding about how nice they are! I might have the bug now, and A LOT less money.
