I watched all of those personally.
Nearly-Forgotten TV Shows, Themes, and Ads
Re: Nearly-Forgotten TV Shows, Themes, and Ads
The theme music for many of the old shows were better than most actual shows today...
Barney Miller (1975 - 1982)

Oddly enough, the actual intro/ opening credits sequence for Baretta is not on YouTube. Even this version by Sammy Davis Jr. isn't the same version he sang for the opening credits of the show. I have a strong suspicion this youtube absence has to do with the Bonny Lee Bakely death about 20 years ago, and the subsequent blacklisting of Baretta star Robert Blake. But IMO, the show itself wasn't bad, and Sammy Davis's song was good.

Me, too. I bought my first switchblade from a buddy, directly because of seeing a Baretta episode about a switchblade-wielding 'slasher, and decided I wanted one for myself. I know, that's sick. But what can I say? I was only 13.

There was so many good shows to watch back then.
Something actually worth watching everyday, unlike these days with maybe 2 or 3 shows worth watching on TV.
I can count the shows I watch these days on one hand and still have a lot of fingers left.
Too much garbage with way too many agendas of different types injected into them.

I have to agree. It's as if they've run out of ideas, for the most part. I watch very few shows nowadays. I did enjoy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which I thought was funny, and never took itself seriously. i watch a couple of the paranormal shows. Sometimes I watch Chicago PD. I do like watching AEW wrestling (Dynamite, and Rampage), for the escapism. But even that's not perfect.

I watch Yellowstone.
And that is pretty much it besides the list of older shows in this thread that are on different channels.
Yes a lot of them you can watch on cable.

Yeah the puppets were kinda strange.

The Gong Show (1976 - 1980)
IMO, this was one of the funniest shows back in the '70s. There was literally so much funny stuff, I'm only posting a couple things I could find here. Even back then, it was obvious at least some of the acts were setups. Some were regulars, like The Unknown Comic.

Remember Diana Muldaur?
She was in just about everything that was actually worth watching back then, from the 1960's forward.
