Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
i don't typically carry assisted flippers anymore. after the smooth action of many spydies i have, not to mention much more sophisticated locks and overall designs, most assisted flippers feel cheap to me. i still have to carry this one every once in a while though. there's something about that composite d2 blade that is just so striking and beautiful to me.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Doesn't hurt that the dividend is one of the best Kershaws out there! Too bad it isn't a manual flipper like the Bareknuckle.ladybug93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:57 ami don't typically carry assisted flippers anymore. after the smooth action of many spydies i have, not to mention much more sophisticated locks and overall designs, most assisted flippers feel cheap to me. i still have to carry this one every once in a while though. there's something about that composite d2 blade that is just so striking and beautiful to me.

Not in my pocket yet, but in the mail.
SPK Shark in Cruwear with Seafood Green Terotuf scales.
I think I would prefer green linen micarta, but I found a deal and the price was too good to pass up. Should be a nice daily carry option.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Thank you Connor . I’ve had this Model 20 since the early 80’s . It was designed by a bush pilot/ guide Ward Gay in Alaska . My Step Father hunted with him once many years ago . I found it in a small gun shop and did a trade on a Ruger 22 auto that I inherited but had no use for it . So this Randall is a $60 investment. I’m cleaning another today that’s a special order I will post for you . Regards MG2

This is my special order Randall 21. When I got the 20 I had to send it to them to make a lefty sheath. They sent me a catalog so did a special order for the 21. Took 6 months to get it, now it’s years . How times have changed. Just doing a tuneup today . MG2

I've got a Shark in M4 and it's a great knife! I haven't really found a way that I like carrying it though, so it doesn't get as much use as I intended. It came with an ulti-clip that I took off quickly after receiving...I may need to order a pull-the-dot soft loop for it.
Let us know how you like carrying it after a while!
Alex is doing great work; his upcoming folder has progressed super quickly.
So it goes.

Vic Executive, a sweet little folding toolbox. Sort of a Classic but slightly larger.

They are such beautiful, classic knives. And really, not all that much more expensive than a higher-end Spyderco. Someday I'll own one!Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:31 pmThis is my special order Randall 20 . When I got the 21 I had to send it to them to make a lefty sheath. Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Thank you for the compliment. The model 20 was designed for smaller game like deer and antelope. Their heat treat for 01 and 440C is outstanding . They both hold an edge very well . They are definitely a knife that can be passed down , Randall engraved my name simply on backside of blade . They are the foundation of my knife collection . I will pull out another knife today for a tune up that is very rare . The Magnacut Mule started another fire with my love for fixed blade knives . Have a lot of memories deer hunting over the years around Ava . Have a great day .MG2The Meat man wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 9:46 pmThey are such beautiful, classic knives. About 4 years ago came into office and a package was on my desk . The Shipping Manager came out smiling and told me to open it . This is a Ed Hinman from Astoria Illinois custom very few were made . It’s a very stout knife for heavy work , spline is thick with nice taper to edge . Steel is unknown, suspect it’s a hard carbon steel holds edge and shrugs off any abuse . It was a very cool surprise Christmas gift . MG2
