About Hydrogen

Just today my hydrogen generator came in, and i intend to update this thread with my findings later on.
Good or bad, if any.

I've not heard of these uses. I know it can power automobiles and they believe they can generate artificial gravity with it.

My understanding is that off-peak hydrogen manufacture could be a vital way of storing energy created by sustainable electrical generation.

My hydrogen generator as it came in (cost: 50 euro including shipping within the Netherlands)
It produces 800-1200 PPB (Parts Per Billion) of hydrogen gas with 4 Watt of electrolytic power, while the glass can contain 450 ml of water.
(mineral water is recommended, at the moment i still use tap water)
With rechargeable stainless steel base where the electrolysis takes place, a thick borosilicate glass midsection, and a stainless steel lid:

This plastic part can be screwed directly on the business end, filled with water, and is then used to attach a nasal tube for inhaling of the hydrogen gas.
It also doubles for direct attachment of a prefilled spring water bottle:

This might be a good introduction about the administration and biological benefits of molecular hydrogen in a human body:

Update: after several months of using the hydrogen generator several times a day both me and my wife did not notice any health effects, be it good or bad.
The LED's changing color when in operation sure does look nice in the evening though,

Keep us posted. You may be on to something. But, just like I almost never buy knives until they have been produced for a while so the maker can get the bugs out, I'll wait till I see how you, and other do before I take the plunge.

The experiment to find out if enriching drinking water with hydrogen gas would provide any noticeable health effects has concluded, my guess is that this cheap generator does not produce sufficient hydrogen gas volume to be useful in that regard.
Maybe a more expensive generator with a higher hydrogen gas output might do better, but at this moment i don't feel like investing in one of those.

There is however a second use of this generator that i still want to experiment with, which involves enriching an opthalmic saline solution with hydrogen gas to use as eye drops.
Sounds strange i know, but i found some very interesting research in a US medical database about this that i want to check out for my own use.
In that same medical database i also found several other medical tidbits that do have noticeable as well as measurable positive health effects, but those might be something for another thread.

Sorry for your medical difficulty. I'm not going to comment on the potential efficacy of hydrogen gas in medical treatments. But I've seen these new-age hydrogen generator flasks, and to put it gently, I'm not on board with them. If you're goal is to make hydrogen, it's an easy thing that you can do with common household items.

You can cobble together whatever items you have that you think might work, but I'd start with a plastic five gallon bucket of water, a cord that you cut off of your old clock radio, some baking soda, a couple chunks of metal to be used as electrodes (maybe your new magnacut mules, a diode that's good for maybe 10 amps, and a water glass.

I'll give you a URL of a little article I did many years ago for creating rust on metal. The set up is the same, but you're going to capture the hydrogen. Essentially, when you run an electric current through the water, the molecules are pulled apart. The positively charged hydrogen is pulled to the cathode, and the negatively charged oxygen is pulled to the anode. The gasses will accumulate on there respective electrodes, form bubbles, and float to the top. If you put a inverted glass full of water over the electrodes, you can capture the gas.

In half an hour with ten bucks in parts, you can capture a pint glass full of hydrogen. Your new-wave generator can produce "parts per billion."

For the power supply, I used a stick welder. You can also use a car battery charger. Or just 120 vac from your house and a diode. The possibilities are endless. The solubility of hydrogen gas in water is a whole 'other thing.

Here's the URL that will give you the basic idea of what's going on.
