The Beretta has been ordered elsewhere! Albeit for more money, but I really wanted one.

Picked up this Girsan Regard Gen 4 Sport a week ago. It's basically a Beretta M9A1 clone with some nice features, most notable of which is the trigger. SA pull is just under 4 lbs with a very short reset and comes very close to that of my LTT Elite Centurion. The DA pull is just over 9 lbs, about a pound heavier than the LTT's but, like the SA, quite a bit better that the factory trigger on my 92A1. Sights are three dot and both are dovetail mounted, unlike some versions of the 92 where the front is integral with the slide. Front grip strap is finger grooved, mag well is beveled, all controls are extended, and the slide mounted "safety" is decocker only. There were a couple things I did not like. Main ones were the grips and magazine, both with windows. While some may like being able to see how much ammo they have left I thought it looked silly, so it now sports a set of grips from their Regard MC BX and a stock Beretta mag. The other one is trivial, the lanyard loop. Why anyone still puts these on civilian handguns is a mystery to me.

Bul Armory 1911 Government
After hearing all the praise of the Israeli gun maker, I had to sign up to get one. Well, that was a while ago but, lo and behold Oryx Arms out of Houston, Texas sent me an email last Friday night at a time that I was actually on my phone and said they had received a small batch of Bul 1911 & 2011 pistols.
I didn't hesitate. I chose the one I wanted, paid for it and it shipped out this Monday and I picked it up yesterday evening (Wednesday)
Very initial first impressions are - wow. It's hard to believe that they made a 1911 as nice as this for the price they charge. Right off the bat it reminded me of a Dan Wesson Specialist I once had. I loved that DW but, I hated the Heine Streight 8 sights. At any rate, the build quality is phenomenal and the best part- the trigger is almost perfect! Well, I would call it perfect. She has just a little take up, but has zero creep. She breaks at 3 pounds. So far, I feel like I just won the lottery. Between this Bul Armory and my real treasure- that Jim (OldHoosier62) is helping me with ( btw, Jim if your reading this, no hurry bro and thank you) Jim is helping me with my Colt 1911 Black Army. She is an original 1911 made in late 1918. The trigger on that ole gal is perfection imo. No take up and no creep. Just remarkable and exceptional to be quite honest.
At any rate, I'll post some pics later. I'll also report back on how I do at the 7 yard line with her. She is a bull barrel, so I'm excited to see what kind of groups I can get with her. She is of course a Series 70 1911.
Thanks for letting me share this gang. I'll be back with some pics in a bit.

Filled my longer range pistol slot with a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 Magnum. It’s a used model but in very good condition. Now to find some ammo it likes, or any at all for that matter.

Is that a captive recoil spring on the BUL? Would make since to have it strip down like a modern pistol without the barrel bushing.

Yes sir, and super easy to field strip. Bul enclosed a little 90° tool to keep it captive.
I'm gonna see how she groups here shortly.

Ok gang, lemme just preface this by saying that I haven't shot in a while.....and, this is not a fair representation for this fine 1911. I will say that this is the finest 1911 I've ever shot. But, bear in mind I haven't had many pistols at all much less 1911's. But, she does remind me of my Sig German X5 guns. They shot holes and so does this wicked witch. Imo, she's a real witch gang. This feels and shoots like a $2,500 gun imho. And, furthermore this is a great example of how a pistol without any creep can shoot, or I should say, make a slouch like me shoot. Anyways, I could've and will.do better, I just got excited. After the very first shot, I knew I got pretty happy and excited lol. Anyways, I fired from the 7 yard line, on hind legs, no rest. I used Sellier & Bellot 230gr fmj. I apologize, I shouldve had a much better target to shoot at, as I just had this cardboard and target propped up against some weeds. I'll get a proper set up next time. At any rate, I love this 1911.
Btw, I used the two OEM Checkmate 8rd maps that came with the Bul, as well as 2 Chip McCormick Power Mags, 1 8rd and 1 10rd mag as marked.
I think the 10rd mag was my best group. I wish I could've done better. I was just excited, plus I'll wear my specs next time and tighten those groups up quite a bit.

Oh, and lemme just clarify for full disclosure that the target I used was originally intended for my brother in law to take to his dad's house to shoot his 22 air rifle with, but he never came and got it. So, being in a rush like I always am I just grabbed it. Sorry for any confusion this.might have caused gang.

Thanks TJ. I can get those groups a lot tighter than that. Isy just that this baby is dead-on. They did such a great job on the pistol. It's truly remarkable for $890
A lot of pistols will either have creep or the sights need adjusting, etc....this Bul is just perfection imo.
Edit- that being said, I would LOVE to find some semi wadcutter ammo. Then we can really see how she groups.
