KOT : Your favorite "trick" knife

Me : the MeerKat ( with it's "phantom lock"

it keep's friend & foe alike guessin'!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) is

probably the best of this lot going ; scalpel sharp ( I just put a 3/4" cut in my thumb opening Java's package ; thanx Java!)

and durable. The other kinds I like is the pen dagger ( more a "concealed" than "trick knife, and things like the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>card ( again in the "concealed" catagory but has it's own "twist" in the form of that imbedded liner lock.

What say the augurers?

Allen,

I've handed over Meerkats to a number of guys with the promise (which I would keep) of letting them take the knife if they can close it .... I have yet to lose. :-) ...

They of course, somehow manage to drink plenty of beer though ... (grinning)

My old Roy Rogers trick knife. A bit rusty but still functions. Pure novelty, would never even trust opening mail with it. Neat locking mechanism though. Take Care!!!

<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>card definitely. It has the feeling that it's covert.

The only other "trick" knife that I own is the Benchmade Benchmite. For an itsy bitsy knife, it's cool and has that neat levitator button-lock mechanism gizmo thingy.

SOG Sculptura. Has an ArcLock and an action so smooth it doesn't need an opener on the blade. Pull the lock, flick,it's open. Pull lock, flick, closed. I can play w/it all night.

The Vesuvius, it gets the same responce as the Meerkat, unless the're into knives. Any BM with the Axis lock, they always pull or push the botton thinking it's an auto. RKBA!

The Meerkat is definitely an interesting knife. Without the closing instructions I would have never figured out how to deal with it. I am glad you like it, you'll have lot of fun with it. After I chalenge the others to close it, I usually take the knife, keeping the handles with three fingers (like I'd make a demonstration, but in fact it's just the regular way to keep the knife for closing) and gently shake the knife - closed. Then I give it back: "here, try again" <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I like blowing the Meerkat closed.
Just testing it out before giving it to my sister for Christmas!

Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.
